For me, this strategy is the favorite entry strategy, but very important to use some higher TF analysis to determine the good trading opportunity. You can use ( as hmaoui) same method to analyze on the higher and find setups on the lower timeframe. I use some basic wave and price analyse on higher timeframe and then try to entry with hmaouis system on the lower.

Hello. I have out of the game for a while and was looking at this thread again. I am wondering if anyone had evaluated the results of entering trend retracement trades when the LT MAs are compressed versus when they are spread. I explain the situations below.

On this image (click on Quoting Tantra above to see it in the thread) during the down trend, after ST cross below LT, there is a price rally and stoch goes to 80. Note how the LT MAs are just turning over there, so are compressed to nearly a line. It appears that would have been a good sell. Price makes another rally and the stoch again goes to 80. But now the LT MAs are spread. And again, this would have been a good sell. However, without having done any back checking yet, I wonder if there is a higher probability of a good trade resulting for one of those LT MA configurations over the other, or if there is no difference; trade them both.

Also, during the uptrend shown on the left part of the image, we see a little different scenario. There is pullback where stoch makes a big drop below 20 and the LT MAs have compressed and just turned over, similar to the first rally in the down trend. So it appears that in both up trends and down trends that the LT MAs turning over are probably good markers for the end of the first main thrust leg and signal for potential trend continuation entry off a retracement.

For the next "pullback", there is actually just a sideways channel and the stoch chops around 50. However, the LT MAs are spread and pointing up, indicating the uptrend is still in force. But because the stoch never made a significant drop, there is not a good stoch signal for another buy (maybe there would be on the m1 time frame though).

So looking at just this single example I suspect that until the LT MAs turn over and the stoch makes a significant move to the corresponding OB/OS zone, it would be very risky to enter a trade. However, I suspect that after the LT MAs turn and then point the opposite direction, there is likely a trade setting up on a lower time frame.
