The value of the $ is based on the full faith and credit of the good old US of A and the fact that everyone in the world will accept it for all goods and services. Other then that, the value is determined by various hedge funds, central banks, etc...

C'mon News...FX, you know the "good old US of A" is bankrupt by even the most conservative definition of the word.

Further to that, if the almighty $$$$ was so great, why is the government so willing to do away with it? Everything's going plastic (debit cards, credit cards, atm cards, public transit cards, swipe this card, swipe that card, use your cell phone for purchases), money as we know it is fast becoming obsolete, primarily because there's nothing backing it, but the "full faith and credit" of a bankrupt, debtor nation. Pu-leeze.

Secondarily, those estranged from "the system" traffic in literal mountains of cash: the poor, the underclasses, the barbarians at the gate, those who counterfeit extremely well, the unemployed, state presidents (remember all the cash Sadam had on hand?) and particularly prime ministers of emerging markets. Then there are those who make a living buying and selling contraband (led by drugs and pharmaceuticals, weapons of every description, ammunition for those weapons, women, chidlren, slaves etc.). Many folk have houses filled top to bottom with $100 bills; they weigh their money because it's too much to count. That's why the War on Drugs can never be won: too much money.

In the long run, cash will be illegal (too easy to counterfeit, drug cartels, weapons dealers have too much money, terrorists, blahblahblah). There's far too much paper money created by law, now literally void of value, floating around this planet. Once it's illegal, the mythical value will increase in the digital world since approximately 40-50% will vanish from the real world by law (reduced supply equals increased value).

Finally, in the short run, how can you be really comfortable knowing that the value of your domestic currency is determined by central banks of other nations?? Knowing that foreign nations finance our incredible debt burden to a large extent as well as our deficit? Knowing that our beloved good ole US of A insists on subjecting Americans to unemployment via "outsourcing" jobs to those same nations?

Somewhere it's written that the debtor is servant to the lender. If America is a debtor nation, Americans are servants to ....?

FOMC analasises? Anyone have anything to say? What is everyones strategies that u use with FOMC and even Non Farm because they react realatively the same? Anyone see $ strength comen? GBP looks like it wants to go down, just my oppinion. Post away with any comments

No one has any FOMC info to talk about, oppinions or anything?

I'm not sure if it's going very volatile tomorrow unless the Fed makes a surprising comment about the economy.

I really respect your opinions, but totally disagree with most of them.

The US is the world leader in everything-economically, politically and every other way too. The world turns to us when there's trouble and everyone wants to live here. Yeah, people around the world hate Bush, but they love the US and everything it stands for. Truly, we are the dividing line between civilization and utter chaos. I'll prove it to you simply-the Muslim extremists hate us-ipso facto-that tells you everything you need to know about which future is better for the entire world.

The biggest problems facing the world are religeous extremism and nationalism. Both problems are best fought on the ecomic front.

Nationalism is being eleminated successfully as more and more of the world becomes "westernized" in it's economic policies. From an economic standpoint, Chinese communism is dead. The outsouring of jobs to India is also bringing them more and more into the world. Two fantastic successes there with more to come.

Religeous extremism is also best fought on the economic front. Iran, thru it's proxy armies, supports local populations economically, thereby winning the hearts and minds of these people. Local populations support them because they provide food, schools and hospitals. That's how it's done. We are not doing enough there and that's why we havn't been able to win the "hearts and minds". The whole point of Iraq is to establish stability so that an economic revolution can be accomplished. When it occurs, a major shift in Pan-Arab thiking will occur as it already has in our Arab allies (Egypt, Kuwait, etc).

The irrefutable fact is this-anyone can come here (and now to other places as well) and make an economic success if they work hard and educate their children. You can open any type of church, temple, mosque, etc. You can say and publish your ideas without fear of reprisal. Your children are safe and their futures look promising. I live in NYC and there are more immigrants here then almost anywhere else. I've witnessed generations of them grow and become prosperous.

why do u say that ?

Because if the news is as what the market is expected, it's not going to drive the market crazy. But, if the Fed say something unexpected, the market is going to be wild.

For instance, tomorrow the market is not expecting the rates cut or lift. However, if all of the sudden the Fed cut or raised it tomorrow, what would happen to the market? Take a guess.

Sorry, I don't agree with that, the "world" never turn to US of A, instead US of A forced those weak nations to get their help..Anyway, most of the people with IQ above 100 are smart enough not to like Bush and believe those propaganda created by him and his gang..

and yet we are seeing more death and their economy getting worse day to day, come on, don't drag this issue here or you will be proved wrong by facts!
