DislikedIn your strategy or EA system, how far back on the charted history does your earliest entry filter or rule consider? ie - youve stated that you use multiple filters or rules which are "grail" i was wondering if you would share the "length of time" the "grail" part of the system is looking at, prior to generating an order?Ignored
DislikedThink its smart too close every evening ore after each session ore whatever you feel comfortable with not having it run for days because a setup usually only last for a coupple of hours its difficult too see into the future for days...Ignored
Disliked{quote} 50, 100, and 200 periods are the ones considered for grail but it would be a lot easier to develop your own instead of reverse engineering. In general, I would recommend to always look at long periods. For example 500, 1000, and 2000 are fine periods too depending on your purpose. I've even found periods having multiples of 5000 to be interestingly useful.Ignored
Disliked{quote} The reason i asked is because i can see no reason for favourable probability when your holding positions for "many days to weeks" unless you have fundamental reasons for a pair to go in the direction you intend. I couldnt work out how you could base such long term positions with anything better than 50% probability when you were only looking at the last 24hours on the 15min chart? Something didnt add up so i figured you must have some other information going into the system that you havnt told us about and are not willing to... i thought...Ignored
DislikedAnother approach to reduce DD or even to take something positive from it might be (maybe as a complement to your daily target approach) to put the EA on a demo account at the beginning of the week, let the account run into DD until Tuesday / Wednesday and then open all open orders as market orders on a live account. The question would be, of course, what happens if the account doesn't run into DD until midweek.Ignored
DislikedSimilar to the usual trailing stop loss for a single trade, an EA to trail the overall account equity is what's needed to maximize returns. Until I find something that does this, I'll be happy taking the daily $50 but it sure would be nice on days like this on my demo account with a floating equity of $3200. {image}Ignored
