Paul, thanks for your input, but as ive stated a few times, this thread was not intended to be a tax discussion.

I am well aware of 'paying tax in your country of residence' as well as the implications of being either an Australian or US citizen. This is not intended as a 'how to avoid tax' thread.

For some people offshore incorporation is worth considering, and this thread hopefully gets some input from people who have personal experience or can point people in the right direction.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

Also as far as Australian taxes go, its similar to the US, you get taxed on your worldwide income if you are a resident of Australia.

HOWEVER, if you can prove you are a non-resident, then everything changes(in Australia that is). I think in the US you get an 80k exemption or something?

Registering an IBC appealed to me because of no reporting requirements, also it seemed like a good way to centralise assets. Particularly for people who tend to travel around alot and not stay in one place for long.

Thuxen, did you see my post earlier. I believe that the company I pointed you to could answer your questions much better than anybody here could, as they do it for a living. Their site is also full of details that can answer many of your questions as well.
