Glad you are with us here STT. I am not talking about fake spoofs but legit placement of TP orders to attract orderflow in your direction... realizing I am a small fish but whatever helps.... like this way on SnP... with TP (cyan lines) all placed in my direction for others to anticipate a breakout/fakeout based on what (or if?) they will see in order book

or like this during a drawdown..... to push into profitability as long as I am within my max position size capacity.

Literally NOTHING is working out for me today. I tried all my normal shit and everything failed. WTH is wrong with this market today? Did anyone make bank today? This scares the heck out of me. Yesterday, I was killing it and made over 50K in demo benjamins and today I am deep in the red !

Been a great day here. Close to 750 ticks total. Been a long day though. Markets not really trending nicely. Switched into choppy mode a little while ago. Grab and go for a while. 20 point targets.

Don't let a bad day get to you. Just be glad you didn't go live. Figure out what wasn't working and make adjustments.

yea range is pretty strong. i was gonna go breakout mode, but the vwap zone didn't cross the prev high/low ..and its way too late in the day for that anyway..

range players win..

5 minute candles have big wicks. Lots of fighting between bulls and bears. 1,000 tick chart is a champ today.

Thanks and Thanks. I am clearing simulation data and starting from scratch. My first breakout failure is playing a nasty tune in my head. rinse repeat I guess :-

EDIT: I think it is the 00 line that is causing the range. It will probably break out during the last hour and trading last hour is a scary proposition (for me).

Glad to be here.. i have traded futures since 2009 (fully automated basis on a diversified portfolio at work) but that is different than short term scalping.
anyhow I am not sure how placement of TP will attract orderflow in your direction. Usually placement of order moves the price away (everything else being equal) not towards it.. it is called order book imbalance. The effect is very small now because of so many HFTs in the market. Earlier in 2007-2009 Orderbook imbalance was citadel's secret weapon for making over 1b (at least thats what they claimed in a lawsuit about their IP).

So if you put a visible TP (i.e. sell order above the current price for a long position), price shd move down a bit not up. Again the effect is very small now adays and only imbalance at the first level of the order book matters (anything further down is pretty much ignored).

Acres of printed angst simply dilutes the attraction and effectiveness of this thread. yeah man. Algos are ruling the world. Cant trade on price alone, cant trade on volume alone. decisions decisions :-(
