In this thread they trade engulfing outside bar: the high/low of last bar completely engulf previous bar. In your case only the body of the last bar engulf the body of previous bar. So isn't a correct setup.

Does anyone know if there is a way to set up an email alert when these rules occur? I've got forex's alert and it's great when I'm home on my desktop. However like the original poster I have a day job t It be great if there was a way to see if we can set up an email alert on the engulf bar.so we could action. I know it's a but pointless for 4 hours but I think it be handy. Specially if the tests for the 1h turns out well.

I must be the dumbest guy in the world. It seems I can't get the Gulf indcator to work. I saved Forexs files in my MQ4 folder under EA. I also compiled and ran the indicator when i attach the EA to chart and add the indicator. I load the template, Yet when an egulf happens i dont seem to get an alert atm.

Hi All,

Awesome strategy indeed.

I've been trying it out for about a week now, but it seems like I just can't get it right - even coded an indicator according to the rules but there seems to be more losses than profit. Am I doing something wrong?

Below is a few screenshots of how I understand this strategy and when I would enter trades.

PS: I am getting the hang of using Fibonacci (in this particular strategy) after reading through some posts in the thread.

the system is not perfect
if you take every ingulfing candle it will lose money on long run

Simple Tip: Add Stoc with 8,3,3 settings, then wait for the new bar, because usually a retracement will happen after the engulfing bar is closed. Plot your fibo just like the instructions, and wait for the retracement around 61.8 or 50, then you can say that its a valid engulfing bar. Then trade it. Also refer to the support and resistance it might give you an idea where the trend will end.

This guy says that an engulfing bar in the middle of a trend is not engulfing. Engulfing needs to be either on top or bottom of a trend. If we apply ema30, it would almost be near impossible to see an engulfing bar that crosses it on top or bottom of a trend. But I guess, it is ok. An engulfing bar in the middle of a trend can also mean a continuation of the trend. We are not looking for reversal but rather a continuation of the trend. Just my thought. Unless you use a more hugging ( smaller) ema like ema8 which you can possibly see it cross right on top or bottom of a trend. I guess engulfing bar are usually used to predict a reversal of trend and that is what this guy is talking about.

Done for the week!
The last couple of weeks I've tested different timeframes, but with bad result.
This week I've sticked to H4 on 12 different pairs and worked wonders!
2 of the loses were my own fault, due to bad entry.

Last 2 days. Very bad.

what time is best for the entry?
Londyn seanse, or other?

Just below body is fine. If below the low show strong bearish but market can still retrace at the next candle even on strong bearish trend

Yes, if yoy read most articles, they wrote engulf pattern as a sign of reversal, thus most strategy will ask you to long at support (for bullish engulf) and short at resistance (for bearish engulf). That is mostly for counter-trend traders.

This is my hypothesis that using engulf pattern on trend continuation may be more profitable. However it is still on testing.

no problem-dont give up - study about engulfing candle- london market and new york market are better for trade because market has so fluctuate- this trading system is too simple , so learn page 1 hard .
