A mixed bag of results, but that is expected, we can not always be in the money. Up till now I have not placed a Basket SL to prevent major catastrophic DD, only Basket Swing I use the built in 50% TSL, which still be quite big. I do intend to evaluate where a max DD line should be placed, once I establish the setups I intend to use on my live accounts, it has always been a difficult issue because sometimes there are quick reversals like my trades yesterday:

Thank you for the results, just setting up few demo accounts with HAS and Swing Baskets in time for the Asian open. I also hope as we get more stats, we get a better feel for stop loss and max DD. Its early days for me on basket trading but it does seem if a trade is successful in the shorter term at least max DD is limited at the onset perhaps priming the setup for early profit take one and done. I am also trying to get a feel for best basket selection and resulting chart which as ever seems to be the key to a successful trade. I wonder if in time we can rank the best pair selection and corresponding TS; or may be that's asking for too much in Forex! Any how looking forward to lots more stats and wishing you success. Cheers

Sorry, I thought I had fixed that, too many versions, I fixed the wrong version.

A new version 5 is at the Web Site that is fixed.

Just updating my thoughts on the future support for MT4 platform. Metaquotes announced that it will no longer issue new licences to Brokers for MT4 platform, so any new Brokers will unlikely be able to support MT4 platform. I surmise that old brokers can continue support for MT4 as long as they have enough licences on their current servers, and encourage new traders to use MT5 instead of MT4 so they don't run out of MT4 licences.

I made some general inquires to my own Broker, Pepperstone, regarding what is going to happen with my already accumulated MT4 EAs and Indicators (Paid and not Paid). Pepperstone has informed me that once their current servers are full, they can only issue MT5 client licences after that, this must be the same for all Brokers. Pepperstone also informed me that they are likely to run out of MT4 capacity within 12months. Pepperstone also said they are looking into "other options", I'm not sure what that might be yet but it looks like they are trying to find a way to continue to support old MT4 EAs/Indicators.

That all be said, maybe you should think about moving to MT5 in the near future.

PS: One work around, is to create a number of small MT4 accounts now so that I have them available for later, except I cannot do that with Demo accounts as they expire after 1 month.

I am also with Pepperstone and sometime back I asked them to provide one of my demo accounts with a non expiry date.
They were happy to oblige but it shows up as a 'live' account which may or may not cause you some issues with Demo Only EA's.
One of Eugene's trial downloads would not play nicely on my 'live' demo account but at least I can play around with it knowing that it does not expire.
No harm in asking them to do it.......

I already have one permanent Demo account, maybe I could ask for another one to make sure I'm covered. Then still create 3 or 4 mini-accounts, so I can start moving my DB setups to real account trading, starting with small lots (0.01) say.

Sounds like a good plan.
I am still trying to get the HAS Basket trader to work as I want so I can do the same - start with small lotsize on a live account but I am struggling to get it to work.
FairTraderUK I think had the same issue but Eugene is not able to replicate it.......

I remember seeing you were having an issue using HAS with Colour change rather than use the HAS direction setup. I generally like Directional HAS, but I could try a Colour change one to see if there is an issue. What was the setup you had an issue with?

Just a simple enter / exit on HAS colour change on the core5 basket however basket content should not matter.
Try it on the m1 for some quick colour changes.
If you manually enter a trade it will close the basket on the colour change but refuses to open another basket in the new direction.
Yesterday I was watching the m15 HAS and I could get the TS to take the trade when I re-initialised the indicator but it refuses to do so by itself which makes it a little difficult to trade when I am asleep and there is a change in trend......

Yes moving to MT5 would be a wise idea. The sooner the better.

OK I will try a test, if I get the same result I will report back to Eugene as well. I know I have no trouble with the non-basket version of HAS taking trades on colour change.

You may want to download a fresh download of the basket HAS TS before testing as it worked OK for me on a M1 test I did.

Some of the Brokers will probably just drop MT4 and MT5 and move to their own platform like some of them already offer.

I still believe most brokers will stay with Metaquotes, just moving to MT5, or another off the shelf platform. My Broker (Pepperstone) has indicated to me they are just moving to MT5 as their servers fill up, they also support the cTrader platform.

PS: I don't think there is going to be a shortage of Brokers supporting MT5 : https://www.100forexbrokers.com/mt5brokers

I suggest downloading a fresh copy of the HAS basket TS, as hinted by Seller9, and try again. My original version of v2s did not work, so I downloaded a fresh copy and now the 1min HAS basket is taking trades on colour change:

That may be true but with the strict USA rules most US traders look for Brokers outside US and it is very hard to find one that will accept a USA client.

Hi Gene, apologies as this is unrelated and may have been addressed elsewhere but would appreciate your advice please.

I'm testing with DB v5 on a single broker demo account taking feeds from a number of underlying TS charts based on RSI/CORE/HM using a combination of Swing Basket v1s and HAS Basket v2s all set to Alerts Only. My idea is to use the DB as a signal generator allowing me to manually check multiple setups against matching Swing and HAS signals before taking action on a different PC and broker account. However is there also anyway I can also use the DB itself to execute trades with the many TS's in background or would this lead to complexities? Currently if I decide to take the trades by turning Alerts Only off they are executed by DB but immediately Closed by TSL per image attached.

I hope this makes sense and thanks a lot in advance.

If you have more than one chart for each pair the DB can not distinguish from which one the enter or close is coming from. So if one chart of say AUDCAD signals a Buy from the TS that is on it to the DB and another chart that also has AUDCAD on it but a different TS, this TS could be seeing the opposite and would close the trade according to its rules.

The TS button can not distinguish from which chart a signal is coming from, it only associates an incoming signal to a certain pair.
Also the DB cannot distinguish exit signals, only that it associates an exit signal with a certain pair so would close all trades associated with that pair.

You can have different TSs on different pairs and also with different time frames but only one chart of each can be open that has a TS on it.
