Hi,

I had a trade running and it was closed off with a massive loss - without reaching SL / TP and there was still enough funds in the account.
My margin was not compromised at all.

Picture or it didn't happen.

Remember, the ask price ist not visible in the chart meaning there is no "visual" prove your SL was not hit.

Indeed, you have to enable the Ask line, so you can see both lines (Bid & Ask). Then check it again. Furthermore, you could show screenshot here, so we can see

I’ve noticed an earlier closing of trades than the presets take profits. This situation was continuously happening over the last four days. And I am pretty sure it is because of my EA. Are you using any EA, miss Delta?

The visible bars are created by the bid price only!

Spread spikes mostly affecting the Ask price wont be visible afterwards. Only if you manage to monitor both lines during the incident.

Did you read my post carefully? No!

Did you understand what I wrote? No!

That's why you are hating instead of realizing what really happened. But I will try to explain it to you one more time. First mistake: you were trading a minor pair offering low liquidity. second mistake: you were trading at rollover with this rubbish pair leading to sharp spread spikes (just look at the regular spiking at myfxbook for example). Now comes the critical part. Your SL got hit by the ASK price, which is NOT visible in the bar chart display, as it is created by the bid price only.

Having all that in mind I do not see anything suspicious. That is funny, because it is true. Haters gonna hate.

You can blame whoever you want for your loss. I more or less do not care. It does not change the facts. I gave you an explanation and logic reason for what you have shown. What did you do in exchange? Coming up with conspiracy theories..

Actually, Drolph is right guys. This is how the market works. Keep in mind, that when you open a Sell position, it is closing by the ASK price, however the charts are visualized by the BID price. That's why the sell position is closed, out of the candle > because the spread is very wide
@Khangfm, just enable the the "Show ASK line" option from "Properties" to see both ASK and BID prices. Then you will see your spread in real time.

Hi. Has anyone had their trade partially closed by your brokers? I was trading gold at 1 lot during low liquidity (aft US session around 2pm). Executed a sell trade at 1226.98. Decided to close the trade for at around 1226.75 for a positive trade. But my trade was partially closed by broker at 0.88 lot at 1242.81 and was slapped with a loss of $1916.41. I have my SL at 1232.26. My stop wasnt fulfilled at 1232.26 but instead at 1242.81. I closed with a positive trade but was slapped with a loss of $1916.41. I trading an ECN acct with FxOpen. Has anyone encounter this before and what are the solutions?

Thank you in advance

Hello kjasni, this is possible if your broker is with "Fill or fill" working model. This means- if the price differs from your requested price the order will be filled at the best next available price. Since you are opening a SELL position, during low liquidity > the buyers aren't enough, so when you try to close your order- "the available buyers are buying your gold", however the remaining volume is executing on the next available price. That's why you are on loss, after closing the position.

That is the exact explanation for slippage.

Correct. However, I think this working model is better than others. Because the slippage can be positive as well. Additionally, on this working model- the orders are executing always, without rejection. I think, it is better to have positive or negative slippage sometimes, but to be successfully executed, instead rejected. I know, the rejections can occur poor results, especially if you're using an EA What's why I prefer "Fill or fill".

You may have already heard about our 100% DMA/STP Agency Model. It is the best one, isn’t?

This is probably to your Equity/Margin ratio reaching under 50% and executing an automatic closeout. There must probably be somewhere that it is written. I know on MT4 mobile you can see Margin Level in % and when it gets to 50% it will close. Some brokers also send a "Margin Call" when this goes under 100% just so you know you are getting closer to close out.

For any questions you should ask your broker just to be sure nothing wrong happened, sometimes they might even give some back if it was their error.
