Just some thoughts. If you are still forward testing on a demo account, do not restrict your test to the magic 7 pairs but test them all (28). just use a large account but trade starting 0,01 do not look at the percentage but every profit a pair makes over time (you know you have to test at least 3 month before ever thinking going live). A lot of pairs may really surprise you. Magix scalp, Xuicide, martingale * 3, start lot 0.01, max trades 4, max lot size 0,3. So pretty aggressive with high DD. Backtest 99.9 over 1 year. NZDCHF {image} USDJPY {image}...

You just dont use a grid ea on GBP/JPY and EUR/NZD thoose two pairs usually have runs on 2-300 pips and more on their trending days i have looked at a trader on Youtube trading theese trends with dynobars on ninjatrader and there its clear that thoose two pairs have one ore two days like that pr week...I am too stay away from them with my grids...Have a nice weekend...Keep it greeen...
You win some you loose some do both with peace of mind

Hi there all, Thought I'd share first week and a bit results. Settings: (sorry no screen shot - I haven't figured out how to do that on my VPS) Sum start 0.03 on 10k account Time delay: 120 Step: 20 Daily Range: 900 Time: 13:00 - 23:50 (NY) Magix scalp: true MACD: 20 Hybridstart: true Xuicide: 0 Pairs: GBPUSD, GBPJPY, AUDJPY, EURGBP, EURJPY, AUDUSD I actually only changed to these settings from the default ones last Wedensday. And the new settings have achieved quicker growth but also higher DD. Overall result since last monday: about 6% growth...
Ignored

Week 2 update:

Same settings as above post .

I have swapped some pairs but they are mostly the same ones as above.

Overall Growth: 14%, DD: nothing I've seen below 7%.

Like others have said, if it were a live account, I would probably be looking to close out positions on the Thursday afternoon/Friday.

For accounts with little balance, with this set it will go well that I think. You will not get rich but will go up little by little. Only EUR 1m. Min deposit 500usd.
I will adjust the 28 pairs little by little and parameter to parameter.

Hi Magix. You said you are running TE Hybrid Adaptive pretty much as default except no daily range and time 11:00-23:50, but I see on your TE open trades all from 00:00, so it seems you are running pretty much without time session. Is it correct?

Hybrid Adaptive doesn't have a time or session filter built in...runs 24/5 as long as criteria is present.

This was a way to automatically measure peaks and valleys on trend based trading without the need for manual interjection.

For all intents and purposes...if you ran the standard Magix_Scalp with Xuicide over the same length of time, you would most likely come out with the same/similar results.

Problem with this approach is that when there is a massive market shift, it will blow up accounts - without question.

This was one idea to be implemented, but IMO, still needs to have a Session and ADR Filter and possibly the TapOut option like in Session Magix ->HERE to help eliminate the potential for absolute doom.

I think you are referring to this one ->HERE

Settings are a little different than what you would see on Hybrid 1.c (Explained Below):

If you look at the equity curve and the zigzag pattern, you can appreciate that it takes some losses. This is due to the TapOut feature that was built into this version. On the 1.c version, it was written in as a Option. If set to false, in 1.c, TapOut is disabled and you wouldn't necessarily see the same Dips on the Equity Curve.

That being said, you may also be looking at that 1% of the time where the account may have not been sufficiently covered and exploded.

The TradeStartTime is set to 11:00, which does allow for a lot more trading than just the NY Session, which too may help to explain the reason for needing to be tapped out in the first place.

Besides these couple of setting differences, it is pretty much defaulted to 1.c.

Let me know if this isn't the account you were asking about.

Masters and Slaves...
Masters and Slaves...

I think I have gotten the new idea on the NEXT.

Now...don't get me wrong...I am not stopping development on the current ideas, but what I want to do is a 2x Cross Correlation on pairs and am thinking this might be the next steps.

Cross CoCo is pretty simple...when you add in a second cross coco pair, it becomes a little more complicated, especially on the coding side.

I have some of the ground work done, a portion of coding to help simplify, but want to keep it VERY BASIC.

Meaning...throw out the bells n whistles...keep in the sessions and ADR...and just compare the strengths and weaknesses of PRIME PAIRS and trade Masters and Slaves.

Oh...this seems a little cryptic...but in the end, will be fucking MAGICAL!

Master/Slave 1.
EUR/GBP

Who is the Master?

EUR

Who is the Slave?

GBP

What does this mean???

This was the primary focus of CoCo Aaaaaaaaaaaand for the most part, is really an incremental way that I manually trade markets...with the help of a few key triggers some help from EAs on Cost Averaging and strategic exit points.

IF...EURGBP is above the daily roll, EUR has the ball...buy EUR pairs that are also above daily roll and wait for profit, cost average as necessary.
IF...EURGBP is below the daily roll, GBP has the ball...sell EUR pairs that are also below the daily roll and wait for profit, cost average as necessary.

This is the base of the premise...

And, really, I know this is kind of the fundamentals of Basket Trading, but...what if we could EFFECTIVELY grid trade these motherfuckers...and use a second set of criteria to really help weed out the shit.

The idea is to help reduce risk on an account by limiting pairs. From here, learn the Max/Min of account necessity and scale in accordingly.

Really...

From where I started, at a minimum $10k account to trade 2 pairs, I have come down to a reasonable account size - $3k - to trade 28 pairs and still see a reasonable return.

GTFOH!!

Yeah, I know...right...

I will ALWAYS caution everybody on trading forex and especially as applied to a GRID TRADER, or Cost Averaging and Incremental or Martingale Lot sizing...so, why not reduce the risk by reducing the account size, allowing the USER to dictate the pairs to trade, cross coco the fuck out of the market and use what we have all seen as quite possibly one of the best and easiest manual triggering methodologies coded - made auto.

There are big things brewing my friends...

BIG FUCKING THINGS!

I have the basics worked out...and may get a lot of help on the backside to have one of the best auto strats FF has ever seen.

Or...may be a bucket of shit.

Either way...I am going forward and will post a TE once this shit is online and progress as we go!

Auoooooooooooooooooga!

As you all are my family...

And have been hugely fucking supportive of everything I do, which really is a part of who I am...we all share our victories and our failures...

I'd like to let you all in on a personal moment of the weekend.

ZERO to do with trading.

Most of y'all know that I am a father and grandfather...one of the most perfect granddaughters you have ever seen. (Might be some bias in this statement)

Anyways...

This weekend, and keep in mind, I am a Dude...mostly unsocial, you will know this by how slow I reply to emails and PMs...I was invited to a party this weekend...it was a Gender Reveal Party.

Now...I've been to one of these things before and if wasn't for the free BBQ, wouldn't have even shown up to that. Really, I am not showing up to anything unless there is something in it for me.

Hey...I have never said that I am perfect nor unselfish!!

Anyways...

If you don't know what a Gender Reveal Party is, it's like this...

A couple, who are expecting, will get an ultrasound to get an idea of what the baby is...no shock.

BUT, with a GENDER REVEAL PARTY, the UltraSound Tech, will give them an envelope that has the gender of the baby inside so they can choose to look, or pass this information onto others or in this case, have a party around this, only revealing the gender of the baby through said party.

Yeah, if you are a dude, this sounds like the LAMEST PARTY on the planet and after having been through one of these, would personally have never opted to show up for another.

BUT...

This one was for my son and his wife, so, needed to head out to the party and see what we were all expecting...

RESULTS!!

Yep...gunna have 2 grandchildren.

Long story short...

I am going to have a second Grand Daughter arriving at the end of February 2019.

That's my weekend...Hope you all had one or will have one that brings this kind of celebration to your days!!

The logic actually - as idea holds - is the Anti-Basket, while still looking to Basket trade, but allow for single pair profit.

Basket trading is very kewl...Though I've only dipped my toes into this water, can appreciate the idea.

Working on these, is really into your play field.

As you select pairs, on personal preference, the idea is to select pairs based on multiple criteria - drilled down.

Instead of holding multiple pairs, on a flush of a primary, it will only seek the strongest - in trend - that have the greatest probability of gridded profit. And, when you seek out failures, you can typically see the when and where they failed.

I've ALWAYS been opposed to a news trading EA, for the simple reason is that they typically leave open positions nakedly exposed.

In this, I will always maintain that the market dictates the news, long before the press hits...

We are the sheep only trying to follow the Sheppard.

In a proper Cross CoCo, automation should be able to sift and follow in the same ways that the newest sessions follow, but reducing the risk even further.

I really do thing the answers were in the key to the draw-down and recovery of the Stochs5NN, from last week.

How did this recover when we've seen so much previous failure?

This is sorted...

How do we limit risk while still capitalizing?

This is sorted!

I just have to put it together and test the theories.

By Thursday of this week, I should have a compiled version and will be ready and tested for a Fresh Launch next week.

Really...wouldn't you like to expand to a few more pairs and make gains with a more limited risk?
