Hi ensale.
Yes that thing was pretty much abandoned. not to mention automation. I abandoned all attempts at automating anything with trading. Testing teaches you a great deal. how many times something works and especially how many times something doesn't. I failed at automating even the simplest things in trading and I seriously doubt if anyone ever has overall success with trading automation. All that is not related to this thread , so I won't write about it further

agreed.automation is for the quant's and the big guy's with the money (million's,time) for the research and the coding required.. simple manual is best and that's why your here.

And good point on the testing. You learn from them. You learn what you don't want to do to find what you want to do!

NZDJPY

Endeavoring every day to post at least one thing in detail with charts. Today my NZDJPY position.

Entered few pips under the shooting star marked on the chart...(Not the shotting one)

Side note observation here Strat. Maybe I'm crazy. Sometimes after plotting out support and resistance there seems to be a pattern at times. The NZDJPY for instance the lines were about 50 pips apart and somewhat consistent.

I just threw some extra lines on my chart. I'm not going to try trading this but interesting none the less.

Strat shadow in your charts are incomplete. It appears you don't have 20 in the charts. With out that.. Strat Shadow is incomplete (IMHO) .

The value Strat has put into this is incredible. There is so much to be found if one just reads to understand. This post really hit a week spot in my mind that I did not realize was there. Often when returning to the charts after being away for a period of time, I had found myself floundering for a few days or so. Stupid positions or mistakes. Just not hitting a smooth stride.

Just because you have read THE PATH maybe once or twice does not mean you should leave THE PATH

Professional people, Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers etc., spend as much time keeping abreast and being aware of new regulations, standards, procedures, technology, advances, etc as they do performing their "work". While we are not licenced as "Professional Traders" in trading, we STILL must act like Professional Traders by doing the same thing - staying on, and reviewing THE PATH.

While I have over 35 years of trading experience, I am STILL on THE PATH and spend around 5 hours every day reviewing charts and students posts. Reviewing each and every post HELPS me explain things I take for granted and do on auto-pilot. When I take a break from trading or go on vacation, the first thing I do when I return is GET ON THE PATH and spend hour after hour reviewing the charts I missed.

Decide whether you want to act like a licenced "Professional Trader" or a hobbyist so that I know who and where to focus my time and energy on.

Trading is not like me hanging doors or cabinets or building some fancy mantle or staircase. I can do this now with a picture in my head...no plans.

With trading it is like I need to get my mind synchronized with the market to see or have an idea what will be happening next. I don't have that with construction, I know what is happening next. If this is making any sense.

I'm getting ready to go on a road trip to visit my mom and sisters and will be away for a spell. My laptop will be coming along and will still keep track of the daily charts. I don't know if any positions will be placed. Strat just laid out in detail the way to get my mind tracking with the market. No trades. Just start looking at the charts, get back on the path, see what happened while away. Then if my mind is in sync with the market; look for the next position.

GBPNZD 4Hr Study

Please take this with the spirit it was written in and not a literal exact science.

I have used a singular character to simplify the market for my own purposes, of course there are thousands of participants in the market but only a few that move them.

1. Confluence of Worker PASR level and 200EMA support. Big Buyer has come into the market challenging trapped sellers at point A.
2. Where are the sellers? Market pauses. The buyer from 1.9150 is still looking to buy. Are there more positions to buy from our trapped sellers at A? Yes.
3. Our buyer at 1. has bought the sellers orders and they may have also joined in the buying. We have reached a profit zone at 1.96. This part of the order is filled.
4. Sellers take the buy orders with a target back to point A.
5. Our buyer is still hungry and buys again at point A. Now price is at 1.95 he is going to always buy at 1.95 whenever he can because he now wants to sell anything he buys on the way up, maybe looking towards 1.98
6. He buys again. Anything at 1.95 is going to be bought knowing whatever he sells on the way up to maybe 2.0 he is going to make profit.
7. The market reacts. There are sellers at 1.9750 and 1.98, they have orders they want to sell at this price.
8. Our buyer is hungry, he takes all the market can offer him down to 1.9520. There are no more sell orders below this level. Our buyer has bought everything.The market has to move upwards because they are no sellers left at this level.
9. We have now reached our 1.98 target. Every buy order below this level is profit. Our buyer is now in control and he wants to SELL but can only do this to buyers who also see that 2.0 target. Our buyer offers them this deal. Our buyer is now the SELLER.
10. Our buyer stops buying and is now selling. He will sell anything above 1.80 until all of his buy orders below 1.80 are sold.

So this is my view of a market move and how I am studying to develop this view. Point 6 and 7 "Strat's Periscope" identifies this particular buyer I think and the cat is out of the bag..

Can you guess when our buyer pops up again? (clue. he is living at number 6 and 7).

Do you agree that even if the price went out of the WCC because of the gap, since the price came back inside we are still in a WCC currently?

Yes Bistolis is correct, the WCC is still in place since the Boss candle closed within that Weekly Control Candle.

This is just for information about me to those serious traders posting here. I am on Step 3 and have been following Strat and the path for 3 1/2 years.
I have been on step 3 for quite some time and find that this step is difficult to leave, at least for me. I have no intention of leaving to go back but only forward.

(edit) Adding to the thoughts here. The break down out of congestion would have also triggered sell orders for breakout traders. Those sell orders would be consumed by our big buyer and PASR traders as well.

Except there are no retail levels like on your chart. Just price points of buyers and sellers. The big boys are more than 95% of a $5 trillion plus market. We just hop on the train.
