{quote} Some use currency strength meters, trend lines and indicators of that kind. In my opinion, go for price action. Once again if you feel the chart has no definite form just skip the setup and come back tomorrow. Sometimes you’ll miss good trades and sometimes you will avoid losing trades, tough luck, enjoy the winners, forget the losers.

Have you tried to use S/R lines to SL and TP?

I have a strategy that uses the Support and Resistance Lines to make the Stopp Loss and Take Profit values.

I use this:

TP: 2 or 3 pips before reaching the line

SL: 2 or 3 pips after reaching the line

Everyone should take a look at his work, I’ll explain some examples. Remember to use ADR to determine TP/SL values and breakout size max/min.

You got your box completely wrong.
It should start at 22:00 GMT and not at 0:00 GMT as it's in your case.

I'm afraid those "clean signals" were not that clear, at the moment of entry.
H1 and H4 were probably showing different direction.
We would have to check all those time frames when there is an entry signal, and then compare to those when TP/SL has been hit.

I just don't agree that the Month and Weekly candles have anything to do with a strategy that measures 1 single H4 candle. The H1, H4 and even D1 I can understand. the rest no.

For the rest, congrats on the work.

{quote} No. Fxmed posted this three or four times- "Box must start 2 hours before Asia open and end 2 hours after Asia open, set it accordingly to your MT4 and/or local timezone" The Asia open is 23:00 GMT. Two hours before the Asia open is 21:00 GMT. That's how my box is drawn. Actually my box went one 15 min bar too far before ending. I corrected it.{image}

It must be said that with the daily time ON this changes.

For example, now (in the summer with DLS on) it is 01h GMT the Market Opening. So it starts as 23h00 GMT.

Guys,

With the absence of a working EA as it seems there is no sharing going on I have adapted this system for myself in the UK. I am a little mystified why there is so much disagreement on when the band should be set. The rules seem fairly specific with 2hrs before and 2 hrs after asia open. If you have you time set in Forex Factory it shows you the correct Market open times.
In the UK Asia opens at 1am so the box should start at 11 pm. With my broker I have to cater for the times being 2 hours out anyway so I have my box set at start 1am to 4.45 am.

As this means following the original setup you look for trades from 3am GMT onwards when I am still in bed I have set a start time at 6am GMT time. My results are proving just as good if not better than the original setup but again time will tell. For entries when a trade has already been initiated prior to 6am GMT I use Heiken Ashi bars to get in.

Theres not disagreement. Its clear that's it 2 hrs before Asia opens just some have got that wrong and even I forgot to set for the +1hr for Asia start now. Anyway yeah you can set what ever you want but the original is clear and some just have it wrong lol.

Oh and I like the Asia timings to set it over night and check if it breaks before I go to work..so a start at 6am is not good for me. That's the London open breakout which ive seen a lot of mentioned.

Thanks for the reminder on the time change. It wouldn't have been a loss yesterday after all as no sell would have been triggered. As it is if the buy was it wouldn't have made tP1 either but atleast no loss. Oh well. Today no trade for me even though the sell would have made TP1

Also keen to hear about an EA that will trigger the buystop/sellstop above and below the box (each with its own SL/TP), and then cancel the remaining pending trade.

Currently trying to do this manually.
Has someone got the NotifyMe ea that can notify me on my mobile (during work hours) that a trade was triggered (so I can cancel the remaining sellstop/buystop)?
Or is there a better way maybe?
I also see charts posted with more than one TP target....
Thank you kindly

With great respect and thanks to the original author of this thread...... great thread and excellent trading idea.

Plse allow me to share the following: will deleted if not appropriate and if it should rather be an seperate thread:
Your idea had me exploring more and thinking how I can utilise/tweek this original idea for personal use, my hours, as I need something to set and forget, a trade a day, before I leave for work in the morning.

Will you plse have a look at this idea:
Chart 15m EU
My chart runs on GMT+3 broker time (so please covert to your own local/broker time).
I draw my box 1am to 6am (GMT+3).
I set 2 pending trades after 6am (GMT+3), 2-3 pips above the box for Buy, and 2-3 below the box for Sell.
Currently I only run a TP of 15 pips and a SL of 15 pips.
Setting everything manual for a now......
When I scroll back on the EU chart I notice that this should bring me about 15 pips (minus spread) a day (more than 90% of the time).
The losses are very minimal.
One can fine tune this with the help of an ea, trailing profits, etc, etc, to get even more pips out without really risking more.
Maybe there are more currencies one can do this with... have'nt had the time to look yet...

Please let me know your ideas to streamline this.... I am only a beginner.
Please manually draw the boxes on your own charts for the last 2 months or so, and see if you also come up with the same promising results.
Thank u.
