Some use currency strength meters, trend lines and indicators of that kind. In my opinion, go for price action. Once again if you feel the chart has no definite form just skip the setup and come back tomorrow. Sometimes you’ll miss good trades and sometimes you will avoid losing trades, tough luck, enjoy the winners, forget the losers.

Hi Stayfoolish,

Would it be possible to add a reverse option to the EA so instead of buying at the top and selling at the bottom of the box, the EA sells at the top and buys at the bottom? I would like to run back tests on some alternative scenarios for a results comparison.

Kind regards,

Denis, your H4 box is wrong. It must be coordinated to end @ 2AM GMT. Also, you have 17 candles in your box; it should be 16. My box range was 18 pips and was the 6th consecutive win for me. My platform is Oanda MT4.

It's Gmt+2, not taking account of daylight saving. I made that mistake earlier as well!

Hi guys,

Based on this strategy, I will be making several tests

I will try to test it in several pairs and different hours.

My first tests to try to find the best pairs and the best hours gave me the followed results (June to September 2018 tested)

Broker server GMT+2 / 4-hour candle top and bottom / 15 Time Frame chart

Using Martingale (even I am not very fan of Martingale, the tests showed that the strategy works about 55%, but normally in the best pairs/hours, does not go more than a 4th level of Martingale. For that, I will be testing with Martingale.

USDJPY - works on the 4h candle of 0h and 16h
EURJPY - works on 0h, 4h, and 12h candles
EURUSD - works on the 8h candle
USDCHF - Works on the 16h candle
GBPUSD - 8h
AUDUSD - 0h
USDCAD - 16h

Great system sir. but do you enter at close of bar above/below the box? Or as soon as the candles cross the bar?

That was answered. Wait for a bar to close past the box. If candle is too big and closes too far past the box, wait for a pullback. If no pb, don't trade.

Fxmd stated that he waits for a 15 minute candle to break out of the box and CLOSE outside the box.
