Is live today ... I looked at the first long and doubted because of the tails .. left it ... then saw the short but the thrust bar not good enough, so left it ... then saw the tails when it came down to 2025 and wondered and left it ... all three good edges but the emotions of live interfered ... would have taken them on sim ... that is the challenge of live trading ... no matter how well you do in sim ... the emotions ... well ... sigh ... patience and wait for the next good setup ....

Hey,

I felt like that today too. I spotted a nice short opportunity from my analysis, and even had a TP in mind.

What did I do? I executed. Was nervous a tad bit, but feeling more comfortable, and I knew it was something I HAD to do.. as I would be more upset with myself watching the market go in the direction I knew it would, and not be a part of it and watch in the sidelines.

Just do it, take your licks, take your wins.

I'm trying to treat this like a video game, and not even look at P/L.. detach /divorce myself from money

I'm happy with the measly $140 today.. lol. Its a start. Haven't traded live in awhile.

Unis here's the thing trading is just probabilities it's setups we see happen over and over again. Now with that said do all of them win the answer is no. But with good risk to reward you only need to be right 1 out of 3 to break even every thing else is profit

Thanks Mr D and pr3dict0r, I hear and understand the words but the emotions are still so real and interfere without asking ... are at +19 so far ... two good setups that got to +10 -1 slip ... I know it is only practice that can tame that emotions .... that is why I will stay in the 2 days sim then 1 day live routine when I have a loss in live ... got the emotions nailed in Forex because I can play with the lots size but here it is still a challenge ... especially after the last few live sessions bombed out at 3 losses in a row ... all emotions interfering

It was a quasi type 123 but I was looking more of that spot as demand as price moved 4 bars about 40 ticks the second one was a 123 break pullback

Ended on +19 on live acc ... was tougher than I thought after the last few live sessions where I lost 3 in a row .. the emotions override all sense, but I stuck at it and got two partial TPs and a few near misses.

futures is an open market which means your order get posted at CME (or other exchange if you are trading non-CME contracts). Broker doesn't control much (unless you instruct broker to hold your order in their system and send to CME when price reaches your level. The actual execution will be on CME. you will get slippage if market gaps through you.

if you use order type which is not natively supported by CME or you tell your broker to use their implementation instead of sending order to CME (IB calls this smart router) then you may incur more slippage.
