I am sure some of the traders here would love to know what made you enter that trade. Even the traders that have their own set ways of trading are always open to seeing and learning new things when the opportunities arise. Then you have the new to VSA traders that are still trying to figure out their way of trading who can benefit from seeing the various ways successful traders are using VSA in their own way.

That said however your first post I quoted seemed more to imply that you weren't going to share the details of how you trade. Then you shared a trade you'd taken with no further details on the why so again most would shy away from asking why... Also you seem to have a great grasp on your trading so I am not sure why you feel the need to add in the "I could be wrong as always". At the end of the day we can and will all be wrong at times. Be confident in your posts and others will be anxious to learn from you through the wins and the losses.

I hope you keep sharing and open the vaults a bit more to let others see the inner working's of how you plan and take your trades.

Yes that is the one. Yes it was an upbar on increasing volume but that doesn't automatically mean weakness. While it shows a lot of activity (which means there was selling) it can also show buyers absorbing... Look at the bars after. We have stayed above the H of today's zone (and 50% hinge of Friday zone) and are seeing signs of lack of selling pressure on any down bars. That said we are getting later in the day now so new trades will be unlikely for anything more than scalps.

I use yesterday's zone as either an entry location or a target depending on where it is relative to today's PA. Then I use today's zones as either confirmation of yesterday's zone when taking an entry or as an entry zone with yesterday zone as the target zone. Then as we move our way through the markets (LO and NYO) I use today's zones as a way to track the trend. For example LO shows buyers (or sellers) then we need to see if NYO confirms that set daily trend or reverses it.
Today's zone = Tomorrow's opportunity!

awesome explanation. just a couple of questions if you don't mind. when u are saying scalp i guess you are referring to scalping from the 50% to the high of yesterday zone. referring to the image below, where the arrow is pointing, i see a failed test, since there was a downthrust followed by a down candle, which signifies sellers are still around. the volume was also quite heavy on this candle. perhaps we should wait for a No supply, test or pres bar?

Also, when you say we use todays zone to track the trend, when the LO and NYO comes, do we have to wait for another 1H for the next candle to complete first before taking any trades? this would confirm whether we have broken the high/low of the market open candle or if we are still inside the zone to scalp?

lol.. i see a pres 2bar at the first arrow drawn(dont really know if this is legit.)

i see a 2 bar reversal at the 2nd arrow. both right off the 50%. But then again, there is only a 20 pips plus to the high of the zone, not a very convincing R:R. and like you mentioned, its also late in the day..

Yes time to close your charts, enjoy the rest of the day and come back at LO tomorrow. What I mean't in my previous post about a scalp would have been a short against the main trend for the day between 50% and the L, or perhaps as you noted between 50% and the H. However just scalps and far to late to worry about trading now anyway.

Yesterday's action created a large Wide Ranged Body with Hidden Gap.

This afternoon at the open of the cash market, NQ spiked up in a UHV shooting star....viz: sellers present and was promptly sold hard in another UHV candle - a bearish engulfing marabuzo. Not difficult to have been a seller up there, especially with that nice WRB HG target down around the **50 SS and that virgin POC at 7447 from yesterday too

PS Yesterday's rally was up to fill another WRB HG - on the hourly chart

Aside from spending time watching the charts in real time, most charting packages offer "replay".

Another really powerful way to learn the signs is to program your own SOSs and SOWs.


Try to think in terms of "Concepts" rather than getting bogged down in the nomenclature.

Tradeguider calls the bar in the Yellow circle, Potential Climatic Action. I would agree. However, if you called it Stopping Volume, Demand Coming In, or Hidden Buying, I would agree with those as well.

Why? Because underlying each of those terms is the concept that a Wide Spread DOWN bar on Ultra High Volume that closes off its lows is strength. Not weakness.

Hi all,

I wanna ask about no demand. I little confuse about this signal, especially 'no demand in up trend'. In Trading with the Shadow Smart Money, galvin divides no demand in three type (in up trend, market top, and down trend). In up trend, no demand doesnt works. The problem is that i have difficulty understanding the context of 'no demand in up trend'.

Below is a GBPUSD chart image some time ago, there are two kinds of no demand, the first doesnt work, and the second works. Are not both in up trend? Why the first one doesnt work (Yes there are a test after ND, but i dont get why this ND is 'false' and test appeared after ND) and the second one is works? Because i often encounter this signal and sometimes still be deceived.

Generally speaking, you do not want to trade No Demands in an up trend. Although they it is possible for a No Demand in an up trend to work, it is not as probable as a No Demand in a Down trend. And in the end, that's what trading is all about: probabilities.

When you see a No Demand in an up trend, you can think of it as a lack of participation by the Smart Money on that interval for whatever reason.

When you see a No Demand in a down trend, you can think of it as a lack of desire to take prices higher by the Smart Money.

In other words, a No Demand in a down trend tells you more about the Smart Money's true intent, whereas a No Demand in an up trend simply signals decreased participation at that moment.

I would argue neither of them "works". But you have drawn an up trend channel. Why are you looking to take No Demands in the first place? Having said that, one could argue that there are more apparent signs of weakness in the background for the second No Demand. I will let somebody else speak to that. From my perspective, the trend is up (based on your drawing). Therefore ignore them both.

Thats all about supply and demand, when demand is greater than supply, prices rise, and when supply is greater than demand, prices fall

If the price is rising (up trend) the first thing that you would like to see in order to short the market is supply, not lack of demand. A no demand in a up trend is only valid if you have supply in the background, in a down trend a no demand is a signal of weakness because supply is already there (thats why the trend is down!).

Generally speaking, the combination of sellers (weak background) and lack of buyers (no demand) means that the price will probably move down.

In a up trend:

1. Look for continuation signals: shake outs, stopping action (narrow range UHV volume) or lack of supply bars (tests, no supply).

2. Look for reversal signals: upthrusts, stopping action (narrow range UHV volume), gotcha bars. After having that on the background (and only if you have that on the background) you can look for no demands after a change in the trend.
