Currently I am forward testing a few new Renko EAs. But I used to make money using Renko MA EA with re-optimizing the EA at the end of every week (to get the best input settings for trading the next week). I no longer use any of the Renko EAs in Post 1.

This is the first version of a new Renko trader EA which is based on an extension to the RSI indicator. I call this EA "Renko Meta RSI". You can download the EA from Post 1.

It is based on a modified version of RSI (which I call it Meta RSI) indicator. When Meta RSI value crosses over the middle band, we buy, when it crosses down the middle band, we sell. The EA closes half position at first TP level and moves SL to BE. Then it does a trailing stop. The EA is under development. I will post more when I have better results.

Hello MT7, first congratulations for your work in the renko community.

To use this EA do I need to download the Meta RSI indicator?

Another question, it would be possible to share the base source code of EA so that I can customize the inputs and outputs, you can remove the rules created by you.

No, the indicator has been integrated into the EA source code.

I wanted to refer to entry and exits from EA. And I wanted a basis for developing my own solution by changing only those points.

Hi MT7, Just want to thank you for all the hard work. I always enjoyed playing with Renko. I'm testing your MT7_RenkoMetaRsiEA and for some reason some trades open as .05 (default) and some open as .03 even though its set to .05. The .03 have a comment on the side as you can see from the pic as well. Is this something thats normal or something maybe I did wrong? thank you Settings in the pic are from USDCAD which is set to .05 as you can see.

Hi Redbaron81,

Thanks for doing a forward test of the EA! Please report the results.

Regarding your question, the EA closes half of the position at TP level, and moves SL to BE. When the lot size in the input settings is 0.05, the half of it becomes 0.025, which I guess that your borker doesn't allow it, thus the EA rounds 0.025 to 0.02, closes the trade partially and what remains is the position with 0.03 lot size.

It seems that you are using a Renko brick size of 50 points (5 pips), right?

Yes that is correct thank you for the reply. Partial close!! It didn't click for me. Will post any updates worth posting. I have a explorer running with the ea sicne I had some extra space on my vps. Feel free to check it out. Cheers!

I attached your TE to this thread, hope you are fine with it.

@RedBaron81: I think with 5 pips Renko, it would be more profitable if you use TP = 200 / SL = 150.

Hi Math, this night I will launch the MetaRSI expert on my VPS.

Is there the possibility to play with a fixed % risk to calculate the lot size?

If you are running on EURUSD 10 pips brick size, I can run on another pair or another brick size. Have you got any preference?

Hi Alberto,

Fixed percentage risk has not been implemented yet. I will release a new version with this feature enabled.

For a forward testing I recommend 5 and 10 pips Renko charts. I am not running a forward test, but the user Redbaron81 has already started a forward test of MetaRSI EA on 5 pips Renko charts of different symbols.

Hi Math, I had 3 winning trades on EURUSD 10 pips with default settings.

All positions are closed on first TP.

Do I need to modify the expert settings to close only half position?
