Profit depends on your strategy and trading plan, but keep in mind that any good trading plan accounts for losses. So even if your strategy allows for such a profit, there will be days when you will incur losses.

Yes this is correct also where by one should know what their comfort zone in trading style is, since one person maybe fine with one thing while at the same time it may stress another, the one size fits all doesn't work.

Risk to reward goes hand in hand with win rate percentage.

Yes you must account for losses, the best thing is if you have a recovery method. Let says for instance 80% of the time your original signal to go long or short when it failed usually continues in the opposite direction beyond the pip move of the loss. Theses scenarios would be great for clearing a loss in monetary value. Know that you wrong early and make the changes necessary to go forward.

I think if you go for big you will loose the small one also.
As per my experience I say don't be too greedy in trading.
Make small and average returns this will take you to make your consistent returns

i have created a thread where i plan to show an avg of atleast 1% return over 30 trading days sithout margin call. One comes to a point where you accept that deflecting causes a stunt in your grosth as a trader, which will inturn never allow you to create the perfect syste for you.

What you are following to get the returns is more important than the return itself don't you think?

That can be useful, I agree, as long as one doesn't conflate it with instinctive revenge trading.

Yes I believe so too, it also gives you a peace of mind, no guilt trip and yes you will leave pips on the table but oh well target met. What I thought about is if there was a percentage based trailing stop e.a. that could monitor previous balance versus equity and once the target is almost hit there is a buffer to say I am willing to close between x minimum percent and y maximum or leave it open. This would trail basket or individual.

Or martingale money management based on increased probability of success after the first loss. You also have several variations of risk to reward. Such as expected vs real.

To each trading is different...margin call sounds like alot of exposure. Probably a trade size calculator would work best for you along with a systematic entry exit that doesn't come too often that it becomes questionable whether it will work or not. Even 50/50 can work once the r:r is positive.

Over at mql5 they have some excellent code writers. For a few EURs they could create it and you could share the results with us

Yes one would create their personal rules as to what works for their system and needs from the action. When you review each session or week it tells you what works and what doesn't. Left to the brain to remember is not good enough, treating it like a business report, thinking with a mindset as though you are meeting with the board of a multi million dollar company makes a big difference with approaching each day and week.

It's good that you shared your knowledge... I have invested quite a few nickels there, when no coder paid no attention to my request here. So all I do is share the idea and hope that someone would see the importance or need to have it also but it's never good to be or place an obligation on anyone. I hardly want to put anything here due to what I have heard and see, where people would blame others when something doesn't work accordingly especially on their live account. If mistakes are made on their part no problem but when you do, there is an avalanche of mayhem. So I am being careful.

1000% corrext. I just took a massive sell on EU and it worked out great. 22% return yet i was risking 40% to make 20% because it was a 6 pip drop vs a 12 pip retrace which would have marked sl. Clearly that is extreme risk but what if the ssl hits 1 out of 7 times. Would you be up or down if you martingale your 1-3% return over that time. The term would be compund and not martingale. Lol

Everyone looked on the title and made their assumptions however if one really think about trading in percentage it would work better than pips since most persons lose due to wrong sizing or aiming for too much with the wrong system.
Even though the title speaks to gain, the experienced trader knows there will be losses, however if your losses are controlled and systematic trading can actually be profitable in the long run.

Yes the title mentions per day, probably I should change it to session. However the above is true for a lot of traders that keep quiet on the sidelines.

I share no style or strategy just the concept of money management and targets classified in something other than pips.

Let's use $100 as example 1-3% a lot of traders are doing much better than this, however due to no target they often times end up with nothing or far less than intended. Wishing that they had taken a small amount rather than profits turning into losses due to greed or lack of projection. Be smart. It will cover 21 days. Which for some traders they get a weekly open on Sunday rather than on Monday.

What is your view of percentage? Seeing this example, it gives you a target...

I am allergic to Martingale, it can work for some systems but I don't use it. My risk actually reduce upon experiencing a loss, My risk only increase after a win since the last win is qualifying the next move whenever it comes.

If a trader can create a portfolio or system that will risk 0.5-2.5 percent to make 5% and have a good win rate, they will experience the beauty of the percentage concept. Even if one makes 1/2% per day it's better than what other institutions will give where we store our money.

A clear insane and unrealistic dream. It's impossible to make money like this in the markets. You will have losing days and winning days.

Off course you can use the Martingale approach if only you are ready for the occasional but rare blow up.
