You can download Oanda's data back to 1990 if you have a premium account (20k required) with them....

All my MT4's are demos -- I trade the 6E futures with NinjaTrader and not FX spot...

1.2021 looks better than mine.. most closed hours before the actual time.. oanada feed used to run 24/7// they got burned i think when chf took off the peg a few years back..

Actually, Trading view's FX.CM feed has 1.20221 for the 12:00 close on December 29th, 2017....

From the MT4 menu, Tools >> Options and select Charts tab

Max bars in chart: 65000 => add a zero to the end : 650000 ... press the OK button and restart the MT4 app ...

Thanks, but with 650,000 max bars, it still only goes back to the March 26th data that Gator provided.

I appreciate the help though!

didn't work and I lost all my charts.. even the ones saved in profile.. any suggestions?

BTW Gator, I forgot that Tradingview also has an Oanda feed.......and the 12:00 close with them was 1.20219....

You saving those templates?....lol

If I do three keystrokes on a chart that I want to keep, I'm saving that template over and over.......

After you lose all your work a couple of times in a program like MS Excel or Word, then you get in the habit of saving often...lol

Strange that you lost your charts -- I changed that to Max Bars setting to 650000 and no apparent effect at all...

i usually take that irl time.. I dont recall now.. I cant dispute those.. i do think i took it irt.. anyway.. its close enough for today//

yeah.. but i have many charts.. i had some bots running etc.. i still have to add to the template this weeks info..

i added 2 zeros instead of one.. I have added bars many times on meta4 platforms and it never deleted my charts before. I dont understand it.. it went back to original default and my profiles are gone.. but the templates are still there..

Save a template for each one of those, including the ones with bots, and re-save them anytime you make even the smallest change to the chart.

That way, you can open a new chart if necessary, and apply the template to the new chart and you're back in business.

If using laptop press power button till computer shuts then restart
if desktop unplug then plug it back in > restart
platform will prolly start with old tpl

going forward.. you are the last person to be asked for any tech info...
the reasons are.. you have the most important and the best closing info for us.... we don't want you to lose them...

Just open new charts and re-apply the templates.....
