looking back at 9th apr and when market is marching hook is only way to get in:

Another reason to add some channel lines...

Might have missed a fill on the first arrow, but the second should have been a winner;

If you got in long again above, it should have been a BE at worst, you can see how clearly the channel gets busted when they are drawn in on your chart.

Often a channel break only goes to create another shallower channel on a bigger scale.

its interesting how one views a chart. i personally try and locate where buyers and sellers have come into the market. now erasmus and cg showed 2 variations that would have worked and heres how i viewed the same chart

The earlier that you recognise it, the more chances it creates, but also, the riskier it is. The one is Ras's chart is the best cos it has parallel lines. These are the ones where you can get your lines drawn in earlier with a better chance of success.

They happen everywhere on all scales, but as i've said before, the best trades are when a pullback touches a channel line together with retracing to prior S/D level.

Together with the more obvious trades (123, trigger back into underlying trend retraces, or wicks or tail retests etc), it gives you a good arsenal to not only stave off boredom, but also to keep the success rate high.
