i got my charts back,, the one i put the template over is still gone can it be back dated?

Gator, if I may...This is worth a try....Power down your computer without closing MT4....
Any time that I ever lost power, I also lost all changes that I had done in Metatrader, so you may get your old configuration back.

No, it can't, in other words better was if you have deleted the chart before and not to put the new template over it, so now you can reopen it through File >> Open deleted ...

Or maybe you can find pieces of your work using File >> Open deleted ...

Unfortunately, File >> Open before added template is not available in MT4 ... Previous it was just been erased, like in Terminator franchise ...

that would be great.. but i never shutdown meta.. so if i do.. i may end up with many blank charts... anway.. i will just go back and figure it out.. its just one chart..

No, you won't end up with blank charts -- You will lose only the changes that you have made since you opened MT4 the last time.


Now, if you never reboot, or haven't rebooted for a long time, then that would be a lot of changes lost!...lol

it's been months.. its about 4 months old.. that's the last shutdown i think... win 10 may be some upgrades.. other than that .. its on till death.

Well, I actually shut down MT4 several times a day so I won't lose changes that I do not necessarily want to save as a template -- Doesn't take 10 seconds..

The main reason I do this is that my big six monitor Falcon Extreme is getting some age on it, and the video card is beginning to act up, and I'm starting to get the "blue screen of death" occasionally, and the only thing to do is pull the plug and start over.
