is cTrader recommended?

My broker has encouraged me to switch to a platform called cTrader, claiming that spreads will be tighter with that platform. Can anyone tell me if they have used cTrader and if it is a good platform worth using? Thanks.

Which broker are you currently using? Have you been using an mt4 platform with them and you've been quite successful building up your account to a quite significant figure? some years ago traded with a cyprus broker mt4 platform and i was spectacularly successful then the broker lured me into opening a socalled ecn ctrader account which i did and i started seeing some really crazy spikes on the platform which did not appear anywhere else, i quickly changed back to mt4.

its light years ahead of mt4....try demo version and see.

I would like to have cTrader as an MT4 (or better Metaquotes) alternative...

but until now I am not really happy with it.
I have 20 real accounts and i trade for a living.
18x MT4, 1 MT5, 1 cTrader.
Why 18x MT4?? Because MT4 helps me being productive and generates the money! Not cTrader, not MT5 (at least not the amounts I need).
I can compare the accounts 1:1: the combination MT4/MT5 runs on ActivTrades | MT4/cTrader runs on IC Markets.
For instance cTrader avg. spread is 1,7 pips + comission! On IC Markets!!

For instance I came to this thread today looking for a solution on how to change the default lot size in cTrader.
Default lot size is 1 lot. Don't know how to change the default -- such simple things and no solution!!

The same can be said to the situation on mobile devices (android): MT4 mobile allows me to have all my accounts into 1 app :-)
MT5 mobile is quite OK, but it always restarts and runs in the background, what i don't like.
Forget about cTrader: it is slow and grabs way too much recources. I deinstalled it to free my precious RAM ;-)

you can link up ctrader to mt4 via trade copy mt4 add on.

Something in your broker’s explanation doesn’t sound right. If the broker uses same price feed for both platforms the spreads in both should be practically Identical. Besides, spreads depend on current market conditions and have nothing to do with the platform you use. So, think about it, before switching to the platform your broker recommends you.

spreads are usually tighter on cTrader as most brokers charge commissions. (which I personally prefer)
but in the end, its just another way of calculating the service charges ..

on the technical side, i never touched mt4 again after trying ctrader in its early stages .. and it has been only got better since then.

since i knew ctrader. i only use mt4 to put some custom indicators. if the broker has multi terminal i wouldnt even open mt4 anymore. takes up resources and lagging.
with ctrader you have trailing stop, reverse, add more lots. with a click. even the interface looks very neat and tidy.

for my ctrader broker, fx minor currencies has much lower spreads than i have found in mt4 in my country. the diff is a lot

Well said. Exactly same on my side. Added new tick charts... New chart types will be also soon added so no reason to stick to mt4 anymore. MT5 is reskined mt4, nothing fancy, really. Russians did pretty bad job on that.

anyone else noticed different chart in ctrader compared to mt4? i have seen some difference like in D1 timeframe in mt4 the candle is bullish but its bearish in ctrader(i also tries ctrader of different broker with same result). i want know have you seen examples like this and what do you think?
