Yeah, it's unlikely their services will vary between branches because it's one company, one reputation. But in terms of security moving to UK branch is reasonable if you have a chance to do so.

Is it possible for me as EU citizen to open a tickmill account under seychelle regulations instead of UK regulation? to escape the esma regulations..

Hi Jasper2603,

EU citizens can register under either Tickmill UK or Tickmill EU.

However, if you want to maintain your currents levels of leverage and conditions you may want to investigate if you qualify as a professional client which would allow you to fall outside the scope of ESMA’s changes.

To qualify as a professional client you must qualify for two out of the three following eligibility criteria:

- You have carried out transactions, in significant size, on the relevant market at an average frequency of 10 per quarter over the previous four quarters.
- The size of your financial instrument portfolio, defined as including cash deposits and financial instruments, exceeds 500,000 EUR.
- You work or have worked in the financial sector for at least one year in a professional position, which requires knowledge of leveraged products.

Hi Tickmill,

Is it not easier for Tickmill to put me on Seychelle regulations instead of applying for professional client(for wich I don't have the funds and the job)?

Do you not understand that they are nutty? They discriminate people on the basis of citizenship (and on a fictious one - the EU, for that matter), though no one threatens them to do so. Just for the fun of it. Just leave them (or better sue them), there are brokers in AU, even with better technology (Tickmill only have retail tools for retail fools). Do not feed money to such wannabes.

Hello Tickmill,

I contacted your support team and got the answer they wil not put me under Seychelle regulations and the reason is I am an EU citizen. I cannot believe I have ever been discriminated. I am very dissapointed in Tickmill and will forward the mail I got from Tickmill to my Dutch governments discrimination point and in the meantime I will advise everyone not to do business with a broker who discriminates people!

In the meantime I did a succesfull application at an other broker who accepts me with open arms.

Hold on, I assume these are rules set by regulators, not by the company. Become qualified and you would have your leverage increased. Who knows maybe you are yet another gambler who wants to play with fire.

Nonsense, ESMA does not impose geoblocking. Only the US regulator does such perfidity.
I think their reason is that they want to keep their UK-branch afloat, else everybody would flee to their Seychelles-branch, with the UK-branch going out of business. However, at the expense of traders. Perfidious! I also want to suggest to everybody who is doing business with them to leave. Such behaviour must not be tolerated. We traders have no lobby and therefore fall victim to bulling. But we have the money, they want the money, so we have the power, we only have to use it. Please, no money for the bad brokers.

Hi Tickmill,

i am currently using your demo-account and i am quite content so far. the only thing that bothers me and that prevents me from opening a live account is that you do not offer micro lots for indices. next to forex i also trade indices particuliarly US30 and GER30 however, the minimum size for these popular indices are 1 Lot for US30 and 0,1 Lot for GER30. what is the reason behind it and do you have any intentions to change it?

I just have to wait until tickmill process. During the time, my account has nothing changed and I can not trade because my balance is same.
Is it all broker doing this way?
It seems like tickmill rules my money whatever they want.

The answer to your question is given only two posts above. I really do not wonder anymore, why 90% of traders are not successful in this business, when they are not even capable of reading at least the most recent posts before posting useless questions (which was given alreaedy MULTIPLE times).

Tickmill as a group is regulated by a total of three regulators.

  1. Tickmill UK is regulated by FCA UK
  2. Tickmill Ltd is regulated by FSA Seychelles
  3. Tickmill EU is regulated by CySEC Cyprus

ESMA changes will only affect our Tickmill UK and Tickmill EU entities. Therefore, if you are registered under Tickmill Ltd. nothing will change.

Thank you for taking an interest in our live account.

You are right, the minimum lot size offered for indices in 1.
This is due to the fact that the contract we offer is based on 1 index for every lot. As such, reducing the lot size required would essentially mean that we would only be offering a fraction of that index for trading.

If I am European citizen but living abroad in Middle East and I applied my account and trading outside Europe, do I still have these ESMA regulations regarding leverage? I asked other brokers and informed me that It's only for Europeans trading within Europe.....Kindly advise...Thanks.

The ESMA product intervention measures apply to entities regulated in the European Union.
Those measures are meant to create additional protections for investors of investment firms authorized in EU regardless of the location or nationality of those clients. Please see here (Question 5.9), ESMA’s reply to the particular question.
Therefore, Tickmill Europe Ltd and Tickmill UK Ltd, as entities authorized in the Union, comply with the ESMA product intervention measures.

ı got live account with tickmill and never came across any problem till now Tickmill (UK),my account relocated to ticmill fsa from tickmill uk , we ll see how they doing and working but till now everything is perfect , just one minus thing about tickmill's number of instruments less then the other brokers
