Hottest Economic Reports for 2006

I really need to catch up on fundamentals, so thanks for the start!

Problem is ISM is a private report and can be bought by subscribers like fxcm<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

They can manipulate the market i.e. (move it early) like they did this week. So we don’t have a level playing field <o></o>

That the number of pips movement has seemingly dropped. Maybe the average daily range is following suit.

Doh! I am sorely disappointed, I thought this was a calendar of the 'Hottest Economic Reporters of 2006'.

More seriously, that magazine and this article is a bit of a joke. Using average range to determine the most important indicator is very, very weak. Say the euro has moved 150 pips in one direction already, and then the report pushes it another 20, then you have a 170 pip move for the day, yet only a small part was due to the report. At the very least they could take the range from the time of the report to the close...but no, this is too much hard work!

Also, putting the ISM at the top of the list is questionable because even though it is moving the fx mkt more than it used to, the move on most occassions has not been so pronounced...ie the only reason the average is so high is some big responses on a couple of occassions only (it's not consistent). The table may be a starting point, nothing more.

that table from fxcm is apparently a big lie.
I;d rather go with objective historic charts to get the true moves...

btw. whyin hell is fxcm advertising that when they themselves totally discourages news trading?

Isn't that the latest ISM report that is ranked #1? well if it is, then it's totally untrue, the market moved before this number was released, no way it's the ISM,and FXCM is probably using that table for advertising
