if you wait too long, ER calendar setups get too expensive. Double flys are another way to go. Also....no trade is always a decent option....

if FCX tries to pin $17 Friday I will have to close the put spread for near b/e on the DC.

...never filled the put side, the iv ramp has put the call spread into small profit, even though GM share price has slid a bit. Will close it for small profit or loss rather than risk total loss on the long calls next week

anyway here is why I am looking at automaker stocks to move. I will prolly bail from GM call calendar tomorrow but I would fade any ER spikes, will be watching

no such luck and I ended up having to close the put side calendar for a nickel loss. $19 long calls held into next week have little chance of profit..

Never got the put side filled, calls look pretty dicey with trade war talk in the air.

You can plot IV rank in thinkorswim for options on any stock and assess its liquidity for yourself based on current volume & open interest data for all of its options.

OK, sure - I kind of lapse into shorthand for trade notes but if anyone asks, I will clarify.

DC = double calendar - $54 strike on the call side and $46 strike on the put side. Aug31/Sep21 are the front and back dates.

So, I sold the Aug31 EWW $54 calls and bought the Sep21 $54 calls (and similarly for the $46 puts) for a net debit of $0.25
