{quote} I just updated to V.3. I get blue arrows but no red arrows on EUR/USD or GBP/USD. 7:30 ET. It seems there is enough up trend to make red arrows. Ant help? Thanks Paul

Blue and Yellow arrows I believe. Regardless, to get yellow up arrows the roc has to be over the 0.0 line, which it hasn't been

Buju

I like you indicator. The arrows are ok, but the colors only really work on a black background chart. Its just personal taste, however I preferred the dots, but with the opportunity to change the size and color of the dots.

hmm I can possibly see why now , just looking at the screenshot , although v1 only had 5 buffers and very few calculations. Maybe we are loosing out on lost opportunities by having more buffers ???
The screen shot shows v2 (20 buffers against v3 100 buffers) , what Im trying to achieve by adding more buffers is a consistent profitable signal that will be used in a EA , and speaking to a friend of mine last night (PhD in maths) he said I should try 1000 buffers , well that could be too much.

So Im going to add a feature to vary the buffers that the calc get done on , but at the same time Im worried about being able to customize it too much , this eventually lands up in a curve fitting situation which is ok for past data.

The thing that puzzles me is where are the comments from over 200 downloaders ??? or do people just download , look at something for 5 minutes and move on ...maybe this Forex thing is just a novelty for most people , they dont take it seriously and they are happy with their drone jobs/lives ? lol well thats not me , Ill make it without anyone's help , of course , those that jump on this train with me will be going to paradise ."Dont stop thinking about tomorrow ...Fleetwood Mac"

This will be mine one-day.

buju...Just want to thank your hard work on this indicator. I have been observing it on my charts for the last couple of days. Maybe I can't "see the forest for the trees" but I can not figure out how to utilize it. I understand to enter (i think) on a yellow or blue dot but what do we do after that? Some guidance on the strategy for using it would be greatly appreciated.

Great job. Thanks. I was checking it on repainting issue and this indi does not repaint, as far as I see. Hmm...probably can be close to Holy Grail (ha-ha) if using wisely and with right MM...Would you mind to add one more pair for v.3 (not much correlated with previous) as CADJPY or NZDCAD...
In any case - thanks again....

I am doing backtest with FXBlue simulator and Dukascopy 99,9% data. Nothing is perfect and simulator can show wrong data sometimes. Still one question to Buju remains: do you think that arrows can appear at the beginning of the candle and disappear after its closure (so called repainting)? Also opposite - can arrow appear only after closure looking like it appeared at the open? You, as author, know better the algorythm of your indi.
And I can repeat - the indi looks very promising. First will try it on demo for couple of months...

Hi there
Thank you so much for your input and assistance .

I have updated the first post with the new version 4 , combining all the features of the previous versions into one.
- change arrow sizes and colors
- please refer to: https://docs.mql4.com/constants/obje...ants/wingdings
- process calculations and displays on buffers from 0 - 100

As for repainting , it is possible as the arrows are controlled by using buffers , the only way to make it not redraw is to update the indicator only on every new bar , which this indicator does not , its hard coded to update every 1 minute , regardless of the chart period. This is because of the big demand on the cpu when the buffers_to_count are set to a high level , if this is not done the MT4 terminal will basically hang up.

You can test through the strategy tester and even run multiple indicators with different settings , this way you can see what effects happen with different settings.

Thanks for reply. Seems like the only way to understand real picture is forward-testing on demo... Not sure that any tester can give reliable backtest data...
Looking at the history somebody can decide that arrows appear at the candle open (and it seems great), but it is not the case. Really they can appear at any minute according to 1 minutes buffers update. Certainly, it is not possible for 4H or 1D trader to sit all the time in front of the screen waiting for the signal. So, the picture is not so wonderful. I was trying to take the signals at the end of the candle and it seems not so profitable...Still trying to find some good settings that can allow to take signals upon candle closure.
Just my opinion - I am used to indicators that update only upon candle closure. May be v.2 with 20 buffers can be changed in this way, or it still will kill MT 4 terminal anyway?

Mt4 freezes every second and not able to remove indicator. Wouldn't be better if you cut the bars going back to 500?

For me, the signals in the indicator window have the highest accuracy......but not all of them, only particular ones

Hi,

Sorry that not many people comment on this. Maybe instead of adding 1000 buffers, you could combine it with other calculation.

For example, although there are many indies on my chart, i only get alerts from just one. mrTools StepMA (Thank you mrTools! May you live long!). From what i've been reading he uses a High inertia MA(turns slower) , with a low inertia MA that turns much faster (or the other way around) and get this Orange-Green Line.

I was thinkin if someone could make a complex indi like :
If S/R line or zone
If MAcd div
If crossing of MA

Then signal.

This would be the motherload of indies.
