This is a good one for recording floating highs and Lows

Adding in a Few Ideas to the Pivot Pro EA...think this is going to work out a little more to my liking, but also open to suggestions.

First...This will only kick in like as a Grid Me Out Strategy...meaning, the EA will only engage in cost averaging after the first trade is taken. The reasoning behind this is because of a couple of hiccups with the original version last week, in me not removing or disabling the EA after it hit profit or by me failing to select Only Long/Short and it trading counter to my ideas...now...this motherfucker will only work when I tell it to!!

The Triggering for Cost averaging is still the same...kind of along the lines of the Xuicidez and applied to an M15, actually works out fairly well...

After that...

User Parameters - Changes made are for Profiting Logic Only and there are now 3 different options plus the Stop Loss.
1. Static Profit - If the sum of all trades is Equal to the Static Take Profit, all trades are exited.
2. Minimum Dynamic - Built for a Faster Exit if this is being used as a Grid Me Out for Scalping or shorter Ranges. If there is any slippage on price and the Minimum Profit is in Effect, all trades will close. This is Candle and Price Dependent and in most cases will result in all trades being closed on the immediate candle AFTER minimum profit is achieved.
3. Close All Trades - Market Price. This is where things can be interesting as Profit is Not Assumed by this closing methodology, so make sure you get this right! If you are long and price was below Market Price and is now greater than or equal to the price you have here, all Trades will be Closed. Converse for Shorts, price above and is now less than or equal to...This can be used for Trading Critical Prices according to your own specific strategies or in combination with either of the 2 previously Profit Logic. Where this will be of benefit...if you are trading pivot points or fib scales and have absolutely nutted the market and got zero cost average trades, they won't wait for a magic calculated profit, it will simply close a trade or all trades at this closing price.
4. Stop Loss - No explanation required I am sure...set this up to $1000 as I have verified this feature does work on a few trades last week.

Yes, where is the EA to test it?

Okay...so here we go...

I've tried to make this simple for ANYBODY, member of the thread or not, to play along with the Pivot Pro EA. PP2 isn't a part of the Hybrid Series, so, really not going to hold it back when we can develop faster on a larger scale by allowing anybody to join in on the action.

I have compiled everything you should need, making some changes to the indicators and time frame set ups so that you can work along on a Daily Support and Resistance from the M1 and M5, into the weekly for longer holds on the M15 and above.

I've swapped out the pivot indicator for the one mentioned - Pivot_Voty as it seems to auto set to the terminal instead of manually having to set.

Post 1 - pp2.zip -> LINK

Contains 3 folders.
Copy the contents of each folder into their respective Terminal Folders - Restart Terminal and apply template .01

PP2 will be applied with the .01 template at default values. No worries as no Trades Should take place until you have initiated with a Primary Trade...from there, make sure you adjust all user parameters to your liking.

The Time Delay on default is 900 seconds - Suited for anything up to an M15 chart...This is the Minimum Time Between Trades.

IF you are not scalping and more interested in targeting swing prices and/or specific pivot points, set the Minimum Dynamic to a value in excess of what you expect to hit ie - $1000 and make sure that either your static TP and Close All Trades - Market Price are adjusted.

The rest...fairly straight forward - but ask if you don't understand.

This EA cannot be Back-tested because, well...without a first trade, there can be no expectation of cost averaging.

And why u dont make it to open the first trade, to be tested?
And did you heard about #resource?
Do u know that u can put inside the EA all indicators? And then it's not necessary to download them and put them in some folders?

The EA takes the first trade.

If I see trade opportunities and the EA has not placed a trade, I place the trade. The EA will manage the trade. That's why i set the magic number to zero.

Bishop, is your TE solely from trading this method or do you trade other methods too, not prying but if so what portion is traded, thanks, D

The first TE is 100% Hybrid. Well, I add trades at pivot levels.

The second TE is now 50% Hybrid and something else which remains private.

PP2 was designed for both working with pivotal points on the market and also has the ability to be used as a short term scalper for some faster profits...

To give an idea of what I look at in determining a trade, based on the Template and indicators posted with PP2...much the same as has already been described.

These same ideas can work with any of the triggering or cost averaging logic in the Hybrid Series, PP2 was most specifically created for typical longer swings, specific pivot points or zones for possible market reversal and so that it would close out ALL TRADES instead of just portions with a Dynamic, Static and Market Price as set in the user parameters.

Looking at the chart below there are 4 circles on the chart. These are at the NY Roll Over and easy to see that these points are either Below the 288 EMA trend line - (1., 2.) or Above the Trend line (3. , 4.). Daily Closes below the 288 indicate a downtrend...daily closes above indicate long trend.


From there...with the Hybrid Traders, you can use the User Properties - Common Tab - to select Only Long or Only Short and let the EA stick to the larger over all trend instead of the actual logic which is based purely on a trend defined by the M1 charts.

For the PP2, as a shorter term scalper, you can use the M15 to observe the overall trend and drop down timeframes to either the M1 or M5 and look for Triggering points (as per the pivot point indicator or Stochastics on the M5, MACD on the M1), or just keep it on the M15 and watch for suitable trend pullbacks and take your first manual trigger. As the PP2 logic doesn't have a primary trigger, it will only cost average out when a suitable trigger is realized and only trade in the direction of the primary trade, meaning...if you've taken a long, it will only trade longs...if you've taken a short, it will only trade shorts and will close out the trades as per your Profit and or close Price sets.

Now...if you look at the M5 Triggering, there was a fairly large Price Spike that actually turned direction of the chart.

It is not only possible to get caught in one of these with Trend Trading...but carries an eventual probability of 100%...SHIT HAPPENS - DON'T PANIC!

Taking a loss and living to fight another day is a part of market, happens to everybody...no worries.

When you see the Price Above the 288 as indicated in the Blue Box, the Price Pull Back moves to such a position that will allow for a Trigger in the Opposite Direction. When this comes...close out the losers and get on the right side of the trend...or, ride em out.

Watching for Pivot Points with PP2 may be more to your liking, but still offers it's own share of risk, but these too can mitigated by the cost averaging and where/when you decide to place your trades.

Check out the EURAUD chart from last week, was there any indication of a pivotal turn?


For the Entire Week, EURUAD spiked into a resistance zone but was unable to close a daily candle above.

We can see from the start of the week, every daily candle closed above the 288, but below the supply zone and by end of week had a daily close to indicate a market turn.

So...if we were to set a Pending Order Above the Pivot Points and Market continued to Crush through this, there is a fairly decent chance that with effective cost averaging - Defaults on the M15 chart - that price will come back to this zone for a Close All Trade - Market Price.

Always?

No.

But in the event that market continues to move against you, there may come a time, even with the longer terms that you need to wolf trade, cut off a limb to save the body of your account...again...SHIT HAPPENS, DON'T PANIC!!
