looks as though we are in a channel for now, big move up then trade wars !!!!!

They are a pain those channels, that one is H1, the only way I know of dealing with them is to use MTF, for example watch the M5 chart and also OBV channel.
This was gong to be an interesting area due the D1 W1 highs that were reached and after such a move up yesterday, then trade wars.

Move up Thurs, news related - see D1 chart
We moved up to a new high - see W1 chart
Talk of trade wars Friday
We Bounced off, retraced from that high and are now sat in a range
Its Friday !!


So it looks like a natural position that we are in right now, though I do hate those consolidation/ranging areas
So personally I do not see a great sell off

What is of Interest now is where we go from here, we are sat in an H1 range, at a point of resistance W1
I would like to see a break from this channel H1 with volume ("tick volume" / futures volume) but it can be tricky as it can easily jump back into "the killing zone"

Agree. DXY in it's simplistic terms and removing the weightings , mimics all USD major pairs going up or down in regards to USD. USD is king across all 28 pairs. USD is the main reason underpinning the mathematical correlations that HAS to be maintained or restored after a brief "fracture" so using USD against 28 pairs is a very smart way to diversify and reduce risk instead of trading just one or two pairs as a specialist. Here's the magic formula which does not take much experience to decipher.....go long basket of all pairs if USD is going up and go short basket when USD is going down. Simple, elegant, manipulation free and let's you ring the register all day every day and more importantly, reducing risk over time. A strategy must reduce risk first and then figure out way to add exposure. The key is not in the trigger but in the management of exposure during volatile times....meaning adding and removing shock absorbers.
