Rocky I have a question, why you take those trades after break of the cloud ? Because of the bounce from the high?

Not always but very often when a pair makes a nice move prior to the open, sometime around 10am or so est traders will look to take profit off the table.

My trades so far.Bought gold about 30 mins before London open.Stopped out for 20 pips.
I must say i am torn between trading Frankfurt open or not at all.Sometimes pairs move well in F/O but many times too there is no movement and many times just before London open plenty big guys liquidate positions and trades become losers.

It also looks like gold moves more in the New York session more decisively and i should probably stop trading it in London...RP seems to have mentioned these movements about commodities in the past....

Guys i need your assistance.Do you recommend trading Frankfurt open or just London open.What is your experience?
RP have you ever traded the Frankfurt open or just the London open and would you recommend the Frankfurt open?

My EURCAD trade was liquidated for 37 pips because of much resistance...

My GBPCAD trade is at 16 pips and still open.I have put the stop at break even.I left it open because it is seemingly not at VERY strong resistance...will see...

Hey ichikuse I never open a trade before London open... Because many times there is a pullback which can take you out. Most of the time I wait 15 to 30 minutes after open before I take a trade and want to quit before or around London close... I think between these times this system works best...

Have pretty much settled on trading the open of the london session for 2 hours. This is mainly a patience thing as to how long I can sit in front of the computer. Also agree with Patje as to trading any earlier.

Thanks for that.I need to curb over-trading. I start work at 8 am which is also Frankfurt open time and i cant help watching price moving and staying put,but i realise to become a better trader i need to have discipline about trading times.To add to the temptation of over-trading, i work in front of a pc! Maybe i should put an alarm at 8 that says "stop trading before LO"

Of course people are free to trade whenever because some live in different time zones where its difficult to trade LO or NYO and some trading styles are not affected by times of trading...but for me it matters..........

My job starts at Frankfurt open too and sometimes I sit behind the computer at that time but all ready to many times I had a losing trade around London open, because off that I decided that I would not open the charts before 9:00 and this helped me already enough to not start the day with a losing trade, better no trade than a losing trade. I would say try it and wait till everything settled after London open,. Good luck ichikuse...

In the past I have traded Frankfurt open but with mixed results sometimes picking up good winners but often getting stopped out - I could find no consistency. Price movements often appears very erratic ahead of London open - no doubt the smart money getting their positions in line for the day ahead.
Now I wait until at least 15 minutes after London open before contemplating putting on a trade. I am also very watchful around 09:30 when major GBP news comes out. There is often a lot of volatility at this time even when there isn’t any significant news. Probably due to all the algos firing off to catch out the unwary.

Couple of trades today - one winner and one loser.

EURNZD broke through a previous high and look set to move up to R1 pivot but failed to go higher and booked a loss of 15 pips.

GBPCAD - counter trend trade. I am not a great fan of this type of trade as it conflicts with my GMMA analysis that I use for trend trading socks.
However, short side trades do tend to move quickly, as this one did. My target was the 1.73900 round number that was hit before reversing.

Even in life if your wife attacks u with words or a weapon your emotional brain views her as a serious threat(tiger etc) thats why people end up killing partners in a fit of rage..after the amygdala was hijacked and they breathed too fast and the logical brain was suppressed....only to cry later when the logical brain came back after the "threat" was gone...

I wish all of us the best in trading! We spend so much time on this its heartbreaking not to succeed.........

Thanks to all for giving me advice about Frankfurt open and London open.

I made up my mind about not trading the Frankfurt open but i must say i have changed that again lol. So my decision is that i will do my best to trade only the VERY GOOD LOOKING trades at Frankfurt open.I saw EJ at a good level and there was divergence on the hourly chart.I could not resist.So i took the trade.It went well for 54 pips.

I did not get out at the small retracements along the way.I told myself i will get out at the next resistance R68 on the pivot indi.So i ended up getting out a few pips from the pivot.The R68 line also coincided with the 200 ema so that was a good level to exit i think.........

.In that case he needs the precision and discipline of RP who trades just the NY open but bags way way way more pips than people in the same time zone as Europe
