I think the statement that every one has to find what works for them is true. It is also about having a framework in which you can gain confidence and get those 'aha' moments. If you don't have either of those things, the time ain't right imho.

The next challenge is to clear out all of the baggage accumulated from the past.

The thing I love about this thread is there is no BS. And it doesn't matter what anyone says, you can see divergence (& others) banging out the ticks. So you know it can be done, and if you can't do what he does, it simply means more practice is the order of the day.

That's all this is... a process which requires experience.

There is no substitute for experience. I see massive changes in my trading compared to a year ago. It's probably enough already to average 200 ticks a week, but only if i could replicate the way i trade on demo with live trades.

Really... compared to two years ago, 'fluidity' is probably the biggest single word i could use to describe the difference in my trading.

For me, I think there are still more mistakes to iron out first. I know my next 'process' is going through that psychological barrier and becoming as fluid with live trades as i am with demo. That will be like a reset in the whole process and will set me back for sure.... but of course, thereafter the result is the ability to bank basically unlimited gains.

The limiting factor will always be psychological. How much risk you can tolerate. But when taking trades is like breathing air, the monetary values don't really matter anymore - it's just ticks)

I got a +0 instead of a +1 because I excited too early. Same mistake. I just don't want to post a loss as my first trade. I missed some really awesome trades on the NQ by one tick and also because I was a few minutes late. If you don't get discouraged by the bad days then you can make some money imho,

A few be's with slippage and a +20.

I had one trade on the NQ at 74.50 for 4 ticks. I made the same "mistake" as my last post, but I did it on purpose because I wanted to end the day in the green at +1 NQ tick or so after commissions (it would have been more had I not made the same "mistake" of exciting too early on the ES), but as I write this it would have been a +25 or a +24 ticks or so. Maybe it isn't a mistake because a +0 is better than a -15... but if you take a really good setup in my humble opinion you can usually make it a +1 unless something really really really weird happens. So I need to think about or internalize this last point a bit more.

Another +1, terrible day but no loss which is @ least a good thing.

Recovering slowly but really enjoying my trading. Starting to lose that stressful feeling before each session. Now, i look forward to the challenge of deciphering and decision making that is trading!

I'm learning to follow my 'feelings' or 'gut instinct' as opposed to having to think about it. Over time, (imo) the thought process becomes more natural, like driving a car...

My single biggest enemy right now is aggressive stoploss chases and i'm looking forward to seeing if trusting my overall sense of direction betters the results i've been having recently when removing risk very early.

Quick start;

Ok so, there followed the usual emotional torture, there were a few MF's (that's 'Missed Fill', but you could be forgiven for thinking that it stands for something different!) BE's/+1's, a minus 7 and the +17 to end at +32 with a bunch of comms - 8 i think.



I was still too aggressive with stoploss, especially that last trade... i felt it was going to be trend continuance with a fresh low and it really should have been a storming trade, hey ho, i will take the end result anyway.

I was away yesterday and could not trade ... had a go again today ... decided to try the NQ100 (not e-mini) as I have difficulty with the data feed of the e-mini on the Amps demo.

I got slaughtered ... the market moves a bit different than the e-mini but it was still good practice. I also traded with 10 contracts instead of 1 but I realized that too late and then had to continue.

I started off with a mishap (buy limit instead of a sell limit) and then maintained a fair count ... but I got caught in a large range and it ate me up and spit me out ... I tried one more trade but ended at BE so I let it be that for the day.

AMP Sierra saying rollover to new contract . . . ?

I'm on and off planes and in an out of trade shows, which is playing havoc with trading. But I have too keep the practice up, so here is yesterdays hour traded from this morning off my laptop.

Thanks ... but half of the data on the demo feed is not active and has question marks behind the symbols in Sierra charts ... the rest all work fine ... unfortunately the one I need (enqm18) has questions marks.
