if the EU is set to drop a lot more in the future, the large specs are under water since a long time. Eventually there is a need for them to drive the price up in order to balance their sheets better. I think they would need now above 1.20 to break even their positions.

When I have time I try to calculate their BE-point via the COT data.

I closed most of my short positions days before around 1.17-1.165, the remaining ones around 1.1540. There I switched from short to long also.

But my long position was only moderate. I just closed it at 1.1649

they have been long the past drop for the last 700-800 pips.

Now, after a rise of around 150 pips they are liquidating their long positions quickly.


Maybe a hint, that the ongoing move higher may have more room to run

So, I calculated the average prices based on the TIFF COT report


In order to do this, i looked for the date where the individual participants went net long or net short. That is the starting date for the calculation.

I calculated with weekly candles. I calculated the OHLC/4 of the candle as average price for each week.

Keep in mind we do not know the exact buying price of the transactions.


Dealer went net short on 2nd May of 2017 with average price of 1,0988. They still hold 175.261 contracts short.

Asset Manager went net long on the 9th of February of 2016 with average price of 1,1494 (interestingly enough price was rejected this time around 1,1500)
They still hold 167.386 contracts long

Leveraged Money is now net short since end of May. The had a long position with average price of 1.1940 when they liquidated that position around 1.21


Will be interesting to see the pace of the Asset Manager to go short now (or reducing their long position). Their positioning may tell something about the direction in the next weeks

Copy/paste the whole <script> element in my own html code where I define c3.generate method which converts chart.data to a <table> that is then copy/pasted to excel

To avoid digging for the script, maybe using a <iframe> and make JS do the digging.. once I tried this approach with another site and it didn't work, don't remember why exactly think it's a security matter... back then I made PHP load the page as a file and then serve it to my browser

The owner of the sites normally can chose to not work in iframes
