Terrific, which one? Personally I use one with an alarm, I need to know the time and order that two specific currency’s hit a given value. Worth there weight in gold. Literally.

What's that got to do with anything. I still use that on a demo mt4 account today. Go buy it and use it with the mybook contrarian method. I can afford to test things. It's what it's all about. Test until you find the answer. Stop wasting your life on petty things. Get out in your beautiful country and do something worthwhile.

IKR, so why is everyone so fixated on doing manual calculations against only the JPY currency?

Doesn't make any sense unless you are only trading against the YEN perhaps

Shouldn't the calculation be every currency against each other, same as a meter does?

Very strange, I guess people just think that way does better if they don't understand how it works internally, just accept it and trade on!

Because the JPY is a quote currency (counter currency) for every single pair.

Thanks for that fact, I wasn't aware! But then so is the EURO and it is probably more traded volume than JPY

And why does every Currency Strength Meter take in consideration the 28 pairs, why not just the YEN if that is so great?

Can the EURO be plotted and produce the same rankings as JPY?

I might ask that guy with MAD Dash to code just a JPY dash, using the criteria, none of this manual plotting for me

I know exactly how mine works, I built it. Yen is very much part of the calculation..inc the other index’s. I think you are really starting to struggle now, don’t let it become a vendetta.

Being a base currency haven't changed the ranking in above example.

Yes, you're on the ball, thanks. But my question remains, how does doing the calculation only vs the JPY transfer to the cross pairs eg. EUR vs GBP or CAD vs CHF ?

Why have these people put in countless hours coding Strength Meters when all they had to do was a little math everyday?

Why not have a coder do this up, it could easy draw the line as other CSM , then find strong crossing weak line quickly?

I have been blocked from the other thread Currency Strength with contrarian approach because they said I was trolling - you can read for yourself.

The thread is suspect with very odd behaviour from thread instigator NeilGroom and the thread inhabitants - there is no interest in understanding the why or mechanics behind Myfxbook - they are blindly following a commercial third party ScorpionFX with no interest in learning how to 'trade' - the thread is rightly in the commercial section as it has no base in a trading system or method.

Hanover is totally right in what he said upon leaving forexfactory.

You can see he has been shown up in other forums & threads - scooping up noobs and particularly obnoxious with it. He is simply using other peoples work and presenting it as his wonder system.

Unfortunately those in the thread have been taken in by it.

Now, with a 'working wonder system' you would wonder why Neil was going to be signing up with BankersFX....

Just by using myfxbook community contrarian trading. It has worked for every pair today.
Go to https://www.myfxbook.com/en/community/outlook and take every pair with a volume over 5000 (Min percentage 70%)
Add an RSI period 2 on the daily chart with the pairs you get. Jeeeeeeez
Can't send a pic here. Sometimes the fxbook last weeks in the other direction. Were talking mega pips here.
I test buy if 70 or above and sell if 30 or below. Worked every time.
What I loved to see is I had the NZD/USD sell all last week and closed it Friday afternoon New York time. Well if you look the RSI it went above 30 and today it went below 30 again and it's mega dropped.

Your right. I will leave bankersFX alone. I will test this theory more.

Its amazing that people believe what comes out of his mouth.
People should just do what I did in the bankersfx thread. Tell him to back up what comes out of his mouth by him posting a FF trade explorer.
If everyone did that then there would be no one left to blindly follow him as he will never post a FF trade explorer.
He will show up on this thread again with some excuse for this and that as he is one of those people that always has to get the last word in.
if he posts a FF trade explorer that shows he is profitable over say 2 month time period then I will give him credit in a post. I doubt that he will.

Yes, I think the worst part is how 5 people (if they are different people) - (osjoe2, neilgroom, jmtini, bojack34, jacksonckb) can turn on me (and be rude with it - im a troll, an idiot etc) for asking salient questions on COT and Myfxbook data - you then wonder on motives and who these people are.

At least Impenia was looking at the myfxbook data (albeit incorrect in parts and he/she admitted their mistake).

I don't think they understand what troll means and are probably new into things so cannot understand that any systems/methods need objective and quantitative analysis.

There is none of this in the thread and they are simply jumping in with Scorpion FX. They have absolutely no idea who ScorpionFX is or how they determine the 'sentiment' - unless they are all acting on behalf of ScorpionFX.

Probably just a bunch of people with $$$ in front of their eyes without the ability to stand back and analyse and build an actual system/method.

Again, Hanover detailed his thoughts about FF and the quality on show upon leaving - he isn't wrong - this is what we have to expect from a public gambling forum.


If you look in the other neilgroom posts/threads you can see people also asking for his real account - it never got presented. He is obnoxious and spends his Saturday evening gloating about his wonder system on a public gambling forum - when, if you look at his early posts stated "If I had a system that worked though I wouldn't sell it. I would just get rich and go live on an island" - but of course he isn't living on and island and has to hang out with us and everyone else on every other forum - because he hasn't got anything concrete at all - he stated it was just theory a week ago.

It is highly unlikely a secret recipe will ever come to fruition on a public forum - people forget that. There was a post in the thread saying "we just want a system that works"


I did point out I am genuinely interested in contrarian and sentiment (SSI) but you can go and read the result.

Thanks for the mention about him proving me right. You probably need to unblock me to read this LOL

I knew it was total BS when he claimed to use a Daily 2 MA but it wasn't actually, it was a SCRIPT which might be a 250 or even 400 pips stop loss, this was while he was watching an 8 lot short trade and missed half his profit because it came back 10 pips or so??? Sounds more like scalping than needing a 250 pip stop, DOH

Anyway, a Script only runs 1 time so I doubt anyone can use it for stop loss....

I'm like you, I can't see the appeal but they are following him like the Pied Piper, maybe he is the Pied Pipper, but haven't seen any trades yet....

Apologies, you were kind of trolling and I had been reading pivot trading too...

However - I do want to know about contrarian & SSI - I just didn't know what fraud Neil was until I researched him.

Have you seen their trades today?

Have you seen how Neil is changing the ball park now all those trades are doing so poorly? ('USD this and that, ah but you need the RSI like this, I'm drunk etc')

3/4 of their 'trades' are losing trades....

People want to read so much into the simplest thing; yes, look at them now, he has introduced Line Break charts....???

Before even showing a winning week, I'm actually short the USDCHF and NZDCHF (not a Scorpion pick but strong vs weak)

If he keeps moving the goalposts, they will keep playing and be none the wiser; wonder what his endgame will be??

I cannot see the point in using a third party (ScorpionFX) of whom they know nothing about...

This goes for using myfxbook data without understanding what it actually consists of.
