If someone doesnt care for money management, they are still going to trade huge lots than their account can afford, with or without leverage.

If you're only risking a couple of % per trade max then this shouldn't present a problem. As a day trader focusing on a couple of pairs it's plenty of leverage.

I can see it being very annoying for swing traders who stack orders (i.e - opening new positions when earlier open positions are locked at BE).

The only gamblers whining over this decision are the hopeless and helpless. Those who treat retail FX as a potential career, will simply adapt.

The ESMA rules are actually a very good thing for retail traders....

You guys do a good job to clean this forum from scammers but seriously, more than 30:1 leverage is outright insane.
Negative balance protection is a problem for you?
....

All new rules help retail traders to lose less and have fun for longer......especially those gambling with high leverage.
So this is not an assault on retail traders, it's an assault on a rotton forex industry selling the dream of a profitable retail trader that doesn't exist in the long run, especially if he applies leverage more than 10:1.

Thank you ESMA - great job.

FINMA, when will you follow an implement a negative balance protection and a leverage cap of 25:1 ? It's about time.
