Glad to see some people are as interested in MTF Stochastics as I am. I'll make sure to include sound alerts and push notifications in the first version. I am not a fan of email alerts on MT4 so I won't add them unless a lot of people want it.

OK guys, so the indicator is basically finished for those of you who are interested. There are no alerts included in this indicator. This is just graphical stuff. Alerts for when stochastics on several time frames are overbought/oversold will be a separate indicator which I will upload later.

why do you want to make alerts as a separate indicator? what reasons behind it? it is ON and OFF anyways.


could you explain how it works? I mean, I see on your sample images you have multiple time frames OS/OB indications, on your indicator you can choose only one, so all I see is (default) 1hr OS/OB indication on different time frames, but as I understood your idea was to see multiple OS/OB indications on one TF? at the moment it's opposite.
EDIT. ok, i see, you can add multiple indicators and it will produce results you have - different OS/OB indications on one chart. ok, it works, i just thought initially that all this is in one indicator

just one thing, could you please convert TF display into hours, instead of showing in minutes. i know M1440 is daily, but still would be nicer if it would simply say Daily or D lets say weekly is M10080 looks heavy, simply W would be nice

I think having alerts as a separate indicator works better design-wise.

The reason is that the user can add however many MTF indicators to the chart they desire, then the alert indicator can detect what is going on with them to send alerts. It seems better than making one indicator with a million different settings.

EDIT: Will add the suggestion for labels to the to-do list.

it kinda makes sense (re alerts). if lets say you will keep releasing different indicators, then you can have one alert indicator which will work with all of your indicators, then it will make a huge sense, tbh

wyattgoettsc, first off thank you for the work you've put into coding this! (Your pivot indicator is awesome as well.) I stumbled upon them today and they go well with my intraday strategy.

On the screenshot below you can see my setup. It's nothing spectacular but it gets the job done; I'm guessing you can figure out what I'm doing over here. (Spoiler alert: it's a 34 EMA and I try to ride the OB or OS momentum of the H1 on the M5 and my TP is the nearest pivot of the last 3 days.)



Wish I could show you a better screenshot but once I closed my CrapT4 it wouldn't let me load your MTF STO anymore.
Any guesses on what's going on?

First, nice project i will have a look at it from time to time.

Second, bad news that you can't get a working MTF indicator with build in indicator functions in MT4 (that's not only a problem of iStoch it's a general problem of all indicators because how they get calculated in MT4).

If you want a historical correct calculating MTF indicator you have to implement the indicator by yourself. Let me explain why this must be done. The good news are that you get the correct calculated values for every tick (e.g. calculating H4, H1 and M15). For the current tick all used candles are the same. Lets assume you will calculate the iStoch for candles in the past. 0:00, 4:00, 8:00 no problem all candles (H4, H1, M15) are closed and in sync, the value is correct. Now lets take 2:45 for instance. The starting candle for H4 is the 0:00-4:00 candle because it's already closed the iStoch peeks from 2:46-3:59 and gives you a value that you never get when calculation for 2:45 @ 2:45. H1 peeks also till 2:59. It lies in the nature how MT4 saves the candle informations.
