It can't be done in forex right now. With Coes, all your seeing is their books through their bank(s) that their orders are going to... that's not even close to the whole picture for the entire market...

I don't think Scott's talking exclusively about the CoesFX level 2 orders. He might also be referring to the option defense news coming from Thomson Financial. I'll follow Scott's cue and say that's all I know

Hehe. I was bored. Today i was thinking about ways to get the clutter off my candles and remembered an indicator that plotted price, in the form of a line-chart, against two moving averages. So i did some tweaking and took it a step further... here is the result (and you can download it if you wish from here):

Anywoo, What you see is a naked chart...then this pretty little indicator below. It is comprised of three moving averages that have "Trend" indicators attachted to their code, plus another four moving averages...all set against price (shown here as the thick black line).

All moving averages can have Period, Type, PriceMode changed per user. All colors can be changed. And the three trends can be any Period.Type.Mode you choose. Once price goes above below the mini, there is a signal given, then once the Mini is above/below the Main, and signal is given, then lastly, once the Main is above/below the Major, another signal is given.

This is all open code, so with a choice of any 7MAs, and 3 trends, this should be a happy addition to many models out there.

The defaults are set to my use of the 144 tunnel loosely modeled on the V1hr and GANN numbers, Harmonic Beats.

Anywhoo, that's what this doodler, doodled on a doodlin day off.

Two weeks ago I couldn't pull the trigger unless MACD was holding my hand, RSI my other hand, and Stochastics leading the way.

Now look.

Price is ALL you need. Well, love is all you really need, but to stay in context, price.

I have a co-worker who is a new trader -- he's in that, must review all indicators and make sure five of them line up along with the equinox of Jupiter before I go long, phase...

I don't see why you guys hate indicators so much. I agree following price action is key, but a trend is made up of noise and price action. An indicator helps me to filter the noise so I have a better idea which direction price is going and then follow wherever it may lead. It's true that indicators lag, but lag is the cost I pay to filter the noise. If you claim to "follow the trend" by the very definition of following, you are lagging. But I suppose true disciples of price action have techniques that allow them to pick tops and bottoms with uncanny accuracy so that there is no lag...something I doubt.

Hate is such a powerful word. I don't hate indicators, it's just not my style to have a lot of real estate that I have to look at...

Definitely nothing wrong with indicators. It's just another way to trade.

Don't be so defensive about it.

Why do you require MA's to determine a trend ?

Surely a trend is determined by the following rules:

Up= a series of higher lows together with higher highs.

Down= a series of lower highs together with lower lows.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Correction..truth is, MA a lagging indicator...if u still trade by the crosses, chances are you are a laggard, and from experience, most crosses are better of traded against than being traded with. I use MAs as a resistance line from it i will decide whether i should gear for a short or long position...most naked chartist use trendlines, its up to them. Its all hidden in the price. With price u get in early and with MAs u ride the biggest trends...twoblink - ur secret sauce i found it with Price and Action and MAs. Your journal helped me find "the desired system...and without whipsaws." Thanks bro...i still love rsi..though.

1...Know the trend
2...Set your direction...
3...Go in before the cross...
4. Either u sell the cross...ride the cross with your trailings...I rode a five hundred plus pip trend with this technique baby. To detect a reversal is the easy part but to confirm a reversal is the hard part

Set ur mind...80% of the time youd be wong about the reversal and would just end up scalping...20% of the time you trailings would bring u a horde of pips.

Sidus, Vegas and OCC ALL works at their optimum with price and action...and without whipsaws.

From what I understand you need to pay a monthly fee to get the Thomson Financial information. Does the news/analysis service CoesFX provides to their account holders supply the info on the options and stop positions of which you speak? Or is there an additional charge for it?
