How do I get an email alert when silvertrend indicator change it's signal?

Is there a version of the indicator with alerts? If so, would you post it here or give me the link? It'll save me work and I'll make it send emails.

Ok, think I got it to work. Just not sure how to make the email tell you what currency pair we're talking about. But it does quote the price at which the bar has closed. Also, the alert isn't sent until the close of the most recent bar where the dot appeared. Otherwise, you'd be getting an email every tick.

Haven't tested this one fully so let me know if there are any issues with it.

Hi Lightkeeper,

How about a lil illumination hehe.. Sorry could not resist

I downloaded the indicator and attached to chart but when I pull up MT4 editor I cannot see any place where I can input my email address? I am assuming of course I need to modify it so that I receive an email alert?

Could you help me please?

Hi Sanchez,

Thanks for the question.

Email address is in your preferences for metatrader. Go to menu, tools, options, select the "email" tab and insert all your information there.

Thanks.. I did precisely as you said and still the email does not come through.. I checked the journal in MT4 and it failed.. Below are the errors in the Journal

" Test message failed"
" Must issue a StartTTLS command first"

Do you know what the problem may be ?

Hmm....If it can't send a test message then there must be some problem with your metatrader or your email settings. Maybe try to download metatrader again.

Or even better, before you do that, go to www.metaquotes.net website and send them an email reporting the problem. They're very quick with replies. Usually same day.

Okay thanks.. One thing I noticed is that they ask for your smtp which I filled in but also they request smtp login and smtp password? Is this for my email account which they are requesting this information?

Yes, I guess that's what they want. I haven't done this on my machine because it just set itself up automatically. Not sure how. And I can't check for you because I'm not at home at the moment. Give it a try and click on "test"

No luck... Not sure exactly I am doing the right thing but I know the smtp for my email account and the ip address but I still cannot send email when I click on " Test"

If I am understanding you correctly I should type in the smtp of my server followed by 2525?

In addition to this I need to enter my password for my email address account?

I don't think you need 2525. It's something i got from my support, don't even know what it is.

Remember to check Enable
Use your SMTP from your account I don't think you gonna need your IP.

SMTP login and password is the same you use to login to your mail account.

Mabye you also need to fill out the the field with from and to

IBFX directed me to a free email site that allows smtp access. bluebottle.com
Still having trouble . The journal says- mail: not enough room for "test message" Any thoughts?
