Interesting link. I only notice what was going on as I was observing charts and if we had a big down or up trend before market opens it would come back to the 50 to 61% zone

didn't get a chance to trade today but my method would have had only one trade, a 14 point target with a 4 point stop loss

Long DAX off the London Open and stopping after 3 mins @ +19 FDAX-equivalent ticks, in full accordance with my trading approach, the obvious flaw of which is that when I start with losing trades, as I often do, I inevitably will make more trades... but I do have a daily max loss limit. I accelerated my Mad Dog position sizing, so today, Day 5, I reached the maximum 50 x Ger30 units = €5 point, at which I will trade the rest of this week.

I will then reinstate my Eurex data sub and from 5 March (I am in The Alps next week), start trading FDAX, initially in sim mode. I need to find out if my current trading style on the zero commission Ger30 transfers successfully to the FDAX.... which brings me to rudy's comment above :



In my opinion, any trader who believes (s)he does not face this barrier is simply either deluded or unaware of their inner psychological workings. Very few get beyond it; a simple yardstick / test for any trader is this : when trading meaningful size (ie. not a 10c microlot with a $10k account), do you feel different once your trade is filled, especially when it is in negative territory, to the extent that your ability to clearly & dispassionately make the correct trade decisions is affected ? Yes or no ? My answer is definitely Yes and always has been, even in more successful times when I frequently made >$10k / month (six figure account in those days, best month $17k - the point is that it's not just about the loss or gain of money). Edit : ... & btw, I have done a LOT of work on this, have a Masters in NLP, etc etc etcetera

It's not unusual to feel stress when traiding, I would bet most professional traders get stressed just like we do but the difference is they know all these bad thoughts going through their mind are just that, thoughts! And what separates them from most is they can accept them as just thoughts and still follow their plan
