Just to clarify for the fixed lot have you used 0.5 or 0.05 as you mentioned 0.5 but looking to trade history there is no trades with lot of 0.5

The quant analyzer looks good. I used Fxcm when I utilized their report website it would evaluate your tradin in a comprehensive way to say how long you held trades that were profitable versus those that gave a loss. It would give you the times that your trades were more successful etc. If quant analyzer can be in depth like that it can really help and trader or system.

How can I reset the statistics for the EA? I wan't to start fresh for this week.

Backtesting is always one pair and i don't do losing trades...

But that is not what my post is about.

trading on same pair, is it due to opposite trades they have been taken out and not adding to a trade, don't know much about the internal coding but a suggestion, my own EA has that function to "close on reverse" although there is a "sleep" function but is ignored if the trade turns, I may be well off the mark here, but gave it a go, D

The EA closes the trade on a complete opposite signal.
I think it is rather suspicious as to the point the opposite signal occurs.

Hello guys welcome to the 3rd test, and 1st LIVE test!

We are picking up a notch, and I'm putting some money on the table!

So based on the results, and data I collected from the previous test I was able to get a pretty good idea of what worked well, and I've decided to keep some settings, and make some new changes. In the previous test using the fixed lot size for MM had the better result than %, and both the TS and RR settings worked well so I'll be keeping both.

I've added a few extra things that I'll be using in this next test. See below:

Chart 1: Using a fixed lot of 0.02, and modified TS settings.
Chart 2: Using a fixed lot of 0.02 and 1:1 RR.

Both charts will also be using the following settings:

Reentries = false.
Time filter = 10-23. (broker time - GMT +2) (No trade on Sunday)
News filter = true. (60/60 - High impact only)
S&R filter = true.
SMA 200 trend filter = false.

I have attached both set files for you guys to load up and use if you like.

Now there is another topic I would like to mention of one important change which I've made to this test. A little while back the subject of using a lower depth period for the Zig Zag came up, and as I had never tried other periods before, I thought why not do a comparison test to see for myself.

So in the previous test I ran a side by side comparison test, but using a depth period of 40 instead of 60. Using a lower period meant having a few more signals, and during the 1 month, the comparison test went into the lead. At the end of the test the final results spoke for themselves with the lower depth period of 40 having better results. The test had a higher profit factor, expected payoff, and total profits overall. So based on these test results, using the depth period of 40 instead of 60 the strategy was more profitable, and for this reason I'll be using the same Zig Zag setting for this test.

Great thanks to all. I have a few practical questions. Where do I find SimpleDailyTrendReversalv1.21.ex4? Does it have any limitations, such as expiration? Will there be a version for MT5? Candles H4 are dependent on broker time. Is it possible to modify EA to work with unified candles regardless of broker time? (To compare the results).

But it seems to me that a version 1.21 does not exist at his HP - so presumably this is a version coded especially for mrdfx ? You may find here in the thread a last actual version "1.20" only.
