just read an article on XIV, jesus, dat thing getting smoked....that should have a wild bounce, least they don't just close the damn thing....

spoos getting steady bid, was down 75 now just down 15 or so. We'll see what rosy fingered dawn brings but I won't be surprised if that 2529 is the nadir of another super steep v-bottom.

I missed the move today pretty much and that sucks but I am encouraged to see this fat vol and I will hope there's more to come and more often in 2018...

I had some heavy vol crush after last week and most of those have a lot of time to pan out - out to March. But a few are coming due 2/16, I need this bounce to show some mo full thru the end of week...will post details on open trades later...

...meant had vol crush trades....too many to note but the best remaining from spreads are SVXY long calls - a pile of Mar16 $15 calls in net 35c look like they could really make out well if the stock rally continues. SVXY up >$3 on the week so if it'll grind up ~even $1-2 the next few weeks I could see SVXY $18 or more and net >$2 on the $15 long calls. Also have a pile of Mar16 SVXY $20 long calls I bought for 12c and hoping for a chance to spread back to be or better on those.

Chanced some UVXY put flys - have Feb23 $8/10/12 which may have a chance,,,,have Mar16 $12/15/18 which could do well to catch the next little vol spike if/when....

shorting a long vol derivative so dicey as you pay to buy high and as the shit drops in price the options prices drop dramatically also as iv's bleed out. Posted is chart of values of UVXY Mar16 $30 puts ... I'll explain what it means when I remember what I was trying to say.....early here, still dozing....

Mar FOMC 3/20-21 - Mar opex 3/16 - what will equities do if the FOMC hikes? Will we get another spoos dump to 2,5xx...? Perhaps now the time to set a trap for that........
