I've been running this on the period before the Frankfurt Open on EG for years (Frankenbreak). I even customised the same indicator, lol. Good luck with it - it's all about finding the right pair. It also works extremely well on GN but that pair is mental and not for the faint hearted.

I am glad to hear confirmation for I have been testing this on other pairs and there is a major difference Major.......

for this EA its all about the pair as you said.

yeah, you know what? It took me about 4 hours to come up with this system, I was reading the famous thread were a fellow trader states "price will close away from candlestick open 95% of the time" think about it and figure out how this saying is applied to the system, thanks for your work with the EA

Yep. I'm glad you are cool with my comment. After I posted I began to realise it may have come across as a kind of ''huh, I've been doing this first for ages, blah, blah, blah...Seen it all before, blah, blah, blah''). There really isn't anything new under the FX sun, lol.

As I said, my thing originally used the same indi that I took from the StairSteps concept, then v2 was the one you are using. I ended up using them both in slightly different ways. Then I added a variant of my own for v3. After all that, I don't use any of them any more, as I moved onto trading The DAX in the morning and couldn't run both methods at the same time, lol.

I do run an EJ-biased method developed with TooSlow's nudging, which takes advantage of the dead air in the hour before the US Open - The Dead Zone. So I can see why you like EJ for this at around the time-slot you are using. FYI, UC is also rock-solid there. The same method also works at the midnight hour uk time.

The (major) differences are in the trade management. That's where you should concentrate your efforts. Anyone who knows me, knows where the base DNA of my stable of methods comes from .

You can draw a line pretty much anywhere on a chart and trade in the direction of price as it crosses over it - it's then what you do next that determines the success of your trade.

As I said, good luck with it. I wish you every success.

{quote} True, notice he didn´t use the same time-frame as I used, he used H1 and I used M15, anyways, results will vary depending on how many days you analyze, the longer the history analyzed the more accurate it will be.

How much data did you analyze to come to conclusion about 81%+ winners? I am assuming this was based on 1:1 RR

It was a standard account
this was a back test only to see if the ea is doing what the programmer intended.

back test don't mean sh1t and I think most know that. I don't like eas in general because most if not all are a waist of time for me.

I think if some small changes was made to the ea using some of fxmds ideas -- this ea just might stay in the game and go green.

@ DavidRP -- Yes the fixed lots is a issue and especially for the pair being used but depends on broker of course. Again this is a back test and a back test has no bearing on far ward testing at all --- I am mainly impressed with the ea for its low drawdown and I did not do any optimization at all. I just ck out how the ea was taking trades and closing the trades, and plugged in some parameters that seems good. Some changes need to be done and some forward testing and there you go.

Regards

Ok, I just meant that there is a big gap between your winrate and Ea's. Maybe some discretion involved?

Yes, lack of discretion is why most EAs dont work on the long run, plus Ive said before he is using a different Time Frame.

The results will certainly be better using% risk of bankroll.
The tests should be carried out in this way.
That tests show profit with fixed lots is a very good sign.

beware of the no. of consecutive loss.
12 consecutive loss can drain your account fast.

Also (EA) as per this morning , if candle close more than 10 pips outside box wait for retrace to box edge or 3pips from edge.

If you use 2% of bankroll on the trade, you will not be in danger.
For me, 2% is a really aggressive approach.

Question for FXMD and anyone in US and Europe using this system.

Based on the system these trades usually open between 9:00pm - 3:00am EST. Usually these are hours when most of us prefer to be in the bed sleeping or doing whatever!

How do you manage to take these trades? I know how to place Pending Orders but based on this system you can't do that. You have to wait for a 15M candle close to be above/below our BO box. Also if the price is over 10 pips already crossed the BO box, we wait again for retracement so that the price is around max 2-3 pips from the BO box.

How do you take the trades while keeping all this in mind and not losing your sleep?
