((Account balance / (broker required margin + 40 pips stop loss)) / Number of pairs). Simple. You won't make money unless you risk it and compound it. If your broker has a margin call, then apply that level to the "account balance" prior to dividing it up. If you lose the trade, you only lost your maximum stop loss of 40 pips (or less) times price per pip. You still have your required margin to recalculate for the next trade. Of course, this formula is for my trading plan. If you position trade or scalp, then you might need to adjust your stop loss value. I trade waves, or intraday swings, so I am only taking precaution against sudden news spikes.
Or, you can pretend you are a trader and do the 1%, 2% Wall Street BS thing. You do realize that method is for account managers making multiple trades, not retail traders? I guess though, most of you lose, so this lets you lose more slowly. To me, that is what a demo account is for. Once you figure out how to trade, use your money to make money. That is why you are doing this, right? I think some people also try to scale into positions and scale out of them, so you will have to further divide the available lots for that currency pair. Of course, you make more money going all-in and all-out, but hey, do what you think is best for you. Good Luck

Hello everyone! I copied this thread from another forum cause I think is very interesting to discuss. a) Less than 1% b) 1% c) 2% d) 3%-5% e) 5%-10% f) more than 10% g) I am still demo trading I myself risk no more than 10%: enough to make a decent profit but not that much that will leave me naked. Regards!!!
if u risk 10% up, then u just got 3 shots in a row a day,
do 3-5%, you will get your equity double on a week. Trust me,
