Man, Euro shortists got unlucky. Euro got pumped big time out of the blue after the report. Still hasn't dried up for some reason. The fact that USD is languishing doesn't help either. But the positive thing is EU shorts=collection of swap.

here is a legitimate question for you moneyfocus, whats your take on the whole n.korea situation. myself i think its a watered down version of the cold war. i believe your looking at it geographically form the opposite direction

Here's my two cents about it.

First, let's establish the premise. War benefits no one, especially in this age. A war now, given the technology we have, is certain to result in mass destruction. There is no real economic benefit. Why would Trump/Kim want to start a war and disrupt their very comfortable lives now?

Now here's my outlooks:
1. Conspiracy theory, aka something like Illumanti. Both sides are in cahoots and all is staged.
2. Not staged, just two overgrown kids squabbling.

I'm quite certain even if it goes out of hand, no real war would be staged; however a "cold war" like you mentioned could be possible. But given that North Korea is already a "by itself" country, what exactly would be the impact?

We have seen a gold rush in the last 30 days, but I do not attribute it to just war tension. I believe the reason for this is more due to economic instability and influx of crytocurrencies. For the former, we see that the major currencies (USD, EUR and GBP) are all facing major uncertainties ahead. The Trump administration continues to baffle at every turn, Draghi continously doesn't want a strong Eur/Usd but we keep seeing it surge and GBP, well, Brexit (I'm not saying it will be bad, just full of volatility). With the interest in crytocurrencies, it brings a new play to the world of forex. I believe a substantial amount of people see crytocurrencies as some kind of gold equivalent, so we might see some spillover moves.

I'm likely wrong lol.

my two cents fwiw: euro looks ridiculously strong at the moment. it will fade, but when is the question. if you have euro shorts, consider holding. if you dont, be patient.

Eu has had me by the shorts all week, this move should be strong, going to have to be. Price has built some structure above cornhoilo. But that's the target. I agree war is good for nobody, there was a lot of attention drawn to it here, at first. It's been quiet for a while now, an the bantor should start up again.

I personally feel that if we are going to see EU dropping, it would be because EJ is out-pacing UJ's drop.
