I took a nice short on CHFJPY. I closed 90% of the order and let the rest run. 5min chart. nice consolidtion in london session. 40% of all daily executed forex trades occur in london session and large market participation like that attracts the largest banks and institutions all over the world because they want to take part in that large market participation. I agree with you 100%. Since I live in Germany, I only trade the London and US sessions. In these times, the biggest market jumps take place, but you should also keep a little eye on the Asian market. As a rule, this market moves in a smaller range, but often gives the trader an indication of the direction of the day. For the traders from America that means getting up early.

I have to go a bit further in calculating my defined candlestick strength. When looking at a typical candle, you will notice that the shadows are displayed in the respective candle color. Bullish candles have green shadows, while bearish candles have red shadows. This type of presentation is wrong in my opinion.

A completed candle should usually show the correct price history.

Let's take a look at a bullish candle. The course starts at OPEN. Suppose that the course then runs directly to the LOW and then back to the OPEN. This means that the bears did push down the price, but the bulls had the upper hand in the end. So the bottom shadow should basically be green (bullish).
From the OPEN it goes now to the HIGH and back to the CLOSE, but above the OPEN. This means that the bulls raised the price but the bears were stronger. So the top shadow should always be red.


That means:
The bears were stronger in the upper shadow.
The bulls were stronger in the lower shade.

The correct graphical representation would look like this:

Whether this graphic presentation, however, brings benefits, I can not judge. However, this calculation is important for my candle strength.

Whether you calculate the calculation in Pip or Mini Pip is irrelevant. I calculate with the 5th decimal place. The top shadow is calculated from HIGH / OPEN at the bearish candle and HIGH / CLOSE at the bullish candle. For the upper shadow, the value in Pip is always negative, and always positive for the lower shadow.

There are now 3 values that are added together. Wick (upper shadow), Candle and Fuse (lower shadow). This value is my pressure. It shows how strong the bears or bulls were at the end of the completed candle.

The actual candle body H/L or L/H is the decisive range in the particular time frame in which the candle is measured. With the% value, I look at the relationship between H/L (L/H) and pressure. From this it is now necessary to derive a proportionality.

To what extent this calculation is relevant for future price developments is in the eye of the respective observer. You know, a turnaround can be fast or slow. Using one indicator is one thing, interpretation is the other.

Hello dear traders,

If you look at the daily chart in the EURUSD and the Equilibrium in the past, you might almost think that the bulls are only at 1.186 the rudder. However, even today, a large investor could turn the price up sharply, as the European numbers are not unattractive. This resistance seems to be interesting.

Hi Bionics,

You understand well the meaning/purpose of an Equilibrium.

Did you ever consider using TPO charts? Based on Market Profile.

I don't trade currencies, but I use TPO charts for more then 5 year now for the DAX/GOLD etc. and is a great help for me.
They call Market profile as the best kept secret.

On the top Gold chart you can see the Weekly TPOs and on the bottom the Monthly TPOs (Dec & Jan)
It shows exactly where the Equilibrium is (where the market is in balance) and the pockets where the markets will go back to, to fill them.

Welcome to our blog. Your contribution is very interesting and represents a very good help. I myself also work with a kind of market profile, while having the high-frequency price levels of the past displayed to me. But that should not be as professional as your approach.

At the beginning of my trader's career, after trying so many 1,000 indicators, I thought only a proper order book in the future, orflow, footprint charts and the cumulative delta would be able to predict future prices correctly. But there are so many hoax orders in the market that even an orderbook does not provide any concrete help.

I stayed hanging at the Equilibrium. The market profile helps me identify the optimal price levels, so I absolutely believe that your professional chart image will help you.

Most of all, I am pleased that you and some other professionals are helping traders to benefit from their experience.

Holy jumping Jesus! This is super impressive! At least for me!

Does this mean, the rate will eventually drop to 1280 area, collect the sells there and go up to collect the next line of big buys higher above? Does it usually happens like that?

I have other tools I know everything is in a perfect equilibrium and posted it multiple times, but nobody paid any attention to when I announced it here.

I have no idea how exactly they do it. I have scanned squares/cubes as 1 pip to 300 pips in size and everything is in perfect equilibrium. Like there is no difference at all in between the 1 pip cube and the 300 pip one. 1 pip is just a perfect projection of the 300 pip one and ANYTHING in between. It is a super ingenious app that draws the charts. I am constantly with jaws dropped...

Please be aware that Market profile/TPO charts are not indicators
TPO chart is a data base in fact.

The Equilibrium (in MP language called the POC or Price Of Control) is the place where the market has traded the most time on a certain time and period. Market is in balance on that level.

When the market wants to shift to an other level (for whatever reason) its looking for Gaps or Pockets called on the TPO chart.
The TPO peaks are the Supp/Res. levels which can be seen very easy on a TPO chart .

See the Euro/US$ Future chart on a Weekly base and you see the POC levels of each Week. (purple lines)

Right side TPOs are this Week TPOs
All TPOs plotted on the left are previous Weeks

Hello MaxenshteinD,

this is a half year candle and theoretically you should be able to represent each time unit with it. But as I have learned, it should be very difficult to bring this kind of representation with the green and red shadows in the chart image. Therefore, I do not know from you as a trader can benefit. To better recognize the Equilibrium, I often turn off the shadows.
Unfortunately, I am not a programmer, otherwise I would have even put it to myself, as there is no such representation worldwide.

Absolutely impressive and very professional, that's the advantage as a Future Trader with a fast platform Ninja Trader. What is your recommendation for traders who work with the Metatrader?


Is this market profile comparable to yours? By that I mean only the rough structure, not the concrete method of calculation.

First: I'm not a prof trader. Just an experianced auto didact trader who spend so much screen time by watching markets, that it will be hard to earn back all these hours. (just kidding last few words)

This will never help you. Like you say yourself: Lot of fake orders and info (to speak in D Trumps words)

You are on the right track by watching MP/TPO charts. You will and can determine the important levels much better then others who don't want to spend time to learn to "read" TPO charts (MP).
Your chart looks good. You can see the POC levels which are the most important. Try to make a Weekly TPO chart as well. It will be an eye opener. Watch Daily and Weekly TPO charts.

It makes no difference if you watch TPOs on META or NINJA. Levels are levels. There is only difference in price between CDF and FUTURE, but that is not a problem. When you trade CDFs, the CDF MP/TPO levels will be on your chart and the same for FURURES when you have F charts.

So my advise: learn the basics of Market Profile by mind and you will be at least 50% ahead of your fellow traders who don't know the MP/TPO basics.
