Tell me the past, and I want to know the future. Confucius

As promised, a few interesting abnormalities that are also related to the Equilibrium.

Helmut Kohl (Federal Chancellor 1992-1998) once said: "Who does not know the past, can not understand the present and shape of the future."
I once looked at EURUSD data from 1971 to 2018. Since the euro has only existed since 1999, this is the systhetic exchange rate calculated taking into account the convergence of the exchange rates of all currencies forming the euro.

Looking at the history of the EURUSD over the past 47 years, I once tried to draw resistance and support lines.

I had to deviate a bit from the identification of equilibrium in order to draw a conclusion for the next 27 years. I admit that a price in the EURUSD of 2.02 is very daring, but the Dow 1980 was only at 880 and someone would have said at that time that he is 28 years later at 25,000 .....
... I think you were burnt as a witch.
I also know that the Dow can not be compared to currencies, but when the EURUSD stood at 0.84 in 2001, nobody would have believed it would double over the next 7 years.

Interestingly, the EURUSD increase was an average of 7,700 pip, while the decline was 5,500 pip.

Average Low to High = 7,700 pip
Average High to Low = 5,500 pip
If you look at this increase per day, you will already see a certain amount
Commonality (point 1 to 5 actual past, from point 5 possible course)

Based on the past as a basis for the future, the EURUSD could develop further in 2018 as follows.

Of course, this conclusion is purely hypothetical, since no one knows the future. It is also not about being right, it will certainly come very differently, but it is also once interesting to deal with the probability calculation.
What good is that to me? Now, assuming a long-term rising trend in 2018, I can gear my trading ideas to that, no matter what time period.

For me as a day trader and Scalper not so nice a view. I prefer trading short in the EURUSD. But when the long-term outlook is long, it goes down more slowly in down periods than when it's in a downtrend. (Of course this is not always the case).

So that was not a future prospect, especially since it does not matter to us traders whether it goes up or down. It is important that the market moves. Unfortunately, in 70% of the cases, the market is in a sideways range. So we use the remaining 30% to have fun with it.

I wish you a great weekend and good luck again from Monday

I have the captial to take 1 trade every few months. I see you are following me from these 2 thread posts anf your messages in private. please see my most recent post on the holy grail thread where i address your concerns in a response to RondaRousy who is presumably a struggling asking for my help in interesting roundabout ways. Thanks. I am back home from Cabo. I finally found my ideal destination to retire. Now i need a plan to turn 10K to 10M in 3 yrs :-)

I deleted my earlier post as I think I have all the answers on how you trade and your market philosophy. Unfortunately, i am on a different path in my journey so starring at charts (being a chartist) is something i have moved away from. I know there is more to your style looking at the dashboard image in your first post on FF. Hopefully you will cover some of the MTF based advanced topics.

Sure I can show you a trade on UJ that i loved here. But first off, no one here at forex factory is a peasant. This is a community that is comprised of hard working people, myself included, who are just trying to make a better life fore themselves and their loved ones and that is admirable and heroic. We are not peasants we are committed traders.

Consolidation found in a london session(financial center of the world, 40% of forex turnover). Keep your eye on this consolidation highlighted in blue inside the gray box(londondsession zone)

Now we look at volatility. I have special ways to gauge volatility in the market. Important thing to note is when price is revisiting a level you must understand the size or potential of the market. The market can potentially spike up a few pips beyond the level due to volatility. The volatility potential also helps you to determine how much you want from the market. We cant predict how far the move will be with this strategy so we wan to take profit after small moves of course keeping a 1:1 rr. So we ask ourselves is it more likely that the market has the potential to give 20 pips profit or 100 pips profit? It is more likely that he market has the potential to give 20 pips profite because it is a shorter distance so we want short tight TPs.

Hello meugampong, welcome to our Equilibrium thread,

Your idea is very good to identify the equibribrium through your own calculations. I do not know your calculations, but believe that it is a kind of currency strength. Since the two currency lines differ little from each other, I can not imagine that in the calculation, the other major currencies are included. The equilibrium that you have identified, I see more as an attempt of the course to break the strong resistance line. The actual Equilibrium was created a little earlier, as you can see in picture 1 very nice.

In the monthly chart you see a possible course, but this is purely speculative. One would have to deal more closely with the AUDUSD to make specific statements here.

It is very difficult to identify concrete equilibrium in the daily chart, and sometimes it works. Therefore I recommend to go down the time units.
If you want to identify an equilibrium over the currency strength I recommend two indicators. CCFp of iamgotzaa and RS Group AUD and RS Group USD V1.2

https://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?p=2417299.

I do not want to send identifiers, firstly I did not create the indicator and second I do not know if the developer is right and thirdly I do not want to be responsible for a possible crash of your system.

However, you will find it here in the forum.

I wish you a nice weekend

Hello kinspk,

Welcome to our forum, I am pleased when experienced traders who have been heavily involved in the forum for years, help with constructive Beirägen other traders. That we can never accurately predict courses, but only about I find good. Because that keeps the stock market alive. One of my basic approaches in life is simple, simple, simple. Maybe you know the PARETO principle

The Pareto Principle (also known as the 80/20 Rule) states that in many events about 80% of the effects are due to 20% of the causes. For me, one thing is to do 80% right, since it takes only 20% of my time.

While another achieves 100% result in 100% of the time, I can get 400% result in the same time. That certainly does not apply to all areas.

I wish you continued success.

Hello dear Traders, hello mr.brown,

Maybe you know Ken Block, he is a gifted rally driver and he controls his vehicle like no other. He may not be the best rider in the world, but his videos have been clicked more than 200 million times. Every man claims that he can drive a car well. When I saw him controlling his car, I knew I could not drive a car well.

What we as trader can learn from Ken Block?

Inserted Video

Once upon a time, I asked a friend of Ken Block's how he does that to drive a car.
The friend told me: Ken can not explain that, he just makes it.

The same answer I would have had to give at the end of 2017, if someone asked about my trading style.

Give 100% and you will get back 1,000%.

I have two goals for Forex Factory:

1. Help other traders
2. To help myself

My successful trading style for me is based on pure intuition. My aim is to make this intuition comprehensible and explainable. That's why I see this blog as a project for many years to unravel the mystery of equilibrium.

Together we are strong, together we will work things that would have been impossible for the individual. A group of unknowing people is always smarter than the single intelligent one. I know what I am talking about because I am and are an entrepreneur all my life.

Therefore it is not possible to say that if this or that happens you have to go long or short. We are in a process that has just begun. If you feel like it, I would like to invite you to participate in this process. I am convinced that success will prove us all right.

Maybe someday you will trade the way Ken Block can drive.

Just do it!

Best regards

Hello John Wick,

the resistance seems logical at first sight, my resistance is slightly lower between 1.19508 and 1.19467. In any case, in this range is an Equilibrium, was on the road today and have just switched me on. I'll take a closer look.

best regards

Hello dear traders,

on Friday at 13:00 CET, I have marked my resistance / support zone 1,20511 / 1,20484. When the price rose 30 pip at 14:30 CET and shortly thereafter broke through this support zone, this zone became a strong resistance. With the first attempt the EURUSD did not manage to reach this zone. It was not until late in the evening that the price entered the resistance zone and slowly went down by 20 pip. I assumed that the price would now go higher, although I would have been wary of my marked resistance and had watched the course.

With the opening on Sunday evening, the bulls were close to the helm and against 2:15 CET, the course came back into this resistance zone. With the assessment upwards, I was correct. However, I had estimated that the bulls could break the resistance zone. But he turned down. That would have cost me about 5 pip of my profit. But then I would have gone straight short again, because this resistance was strong and the turning off of the course was the confirmation that this resistance is still strong. As you can see, you can draw zones that are relevant and important. Nevertheless, you must observe how the course behaves at or in this zone.

best regards
