Hi all,
i'd like to show my account details (current trades, closed trades, active balance and so on) to other users through external connection. Is there a way with mt4 or some other external tool to show these details in real-time acting like a server where they can connect and see account details?

thanks

Skyline

MT4 accounts usually have an investor (read-only) login.

Go to Tools -> Options -> Server tab -> click the Change button. There should be an option to change the Investor password.

The person that wants to use this will need to download/install MT4 and use that login.

Some brokers also have a login on the website for this sort of thing.

Yes I know, but i'd like something that avoid all possible changes that users could do to metatrader account. Infact using investor password for example users could stop an EA from running or change EA parameters or something else. Is there a way to avoid completely any possible interaction to MT4 to remote users , so that they can only display trades?

Since investor password is a read only password, everyone who uses it can't see what EA is running on the account, open / close / modify any trade, and only can see open / close trade report. That's why it called read only password. Usually this investor / read only password used to promote a trading strategy or an EA. So you can be sure that no one can't interact with you account. Hope this help

Skyline,
There is an option for FTP in MT4. You can send data to a website to be displayed there. Hope it helps.

That's the info I was looking at.

Can someone confirm, that it is also today the case?

I don't want "them" to see my pending orders. It would also be nice, if only closed trades could be shown.

Can anyone confirm it? Thank you. I know it's an old thread, I jsut did not want to start a new one.

Can "they" see pending orders?

Thank you!
I found a penny today. That's +100 pips for me.

Hi ReaM,
using investor password will let your investors to see all your account activity so they can see everything from open and pending live orders to history orders already closed.
If you want to not share your orders then you have to try some service as myfxbook or also the trade explorer here in FF where I guess you can hide your orders to be shared.

Cheers,
Skyline

Good day skyline:
Interesting possibilities with the captioned.
been using MT$ for a while and just became aware of the FTP option:
Go to Tools -> Options -> Publisher.... Quite interesting possibilities here.

Specifically to your reference to The Trade Explorer and MyFxBook: The trade exploreer here is available from close to the Left hand section of the (your) FF Profile, all you have to do is to click on your username, near top left, then click on Trade Explorer under ther the Control panel section, near left margin. Follow instructions. Ensure that it is only Your investor PW that is suppied. Some Demo accounts only give on PW so one might want to bear that in mind (until you specifically use the MT4 to change the Investor to what you wish ie Go to Tools -> Options -> Server -> Change), and always act safely, reagrding said accounts.

MyFxbook??: this has stumped me for a while, thanks for raising it again. Could you (or any other FF member so minded) share how (the steps) to set up the MyFxbook display of accounts/Data? The information there, having opened an account is sparce. I have seen several members here do so. It is therefore possible, but for the life of me I cannot get any of my trades to show even after editing via the available settings tab.

If information is considered in contravention with open FF forum rules, then Kindly PM me with same.

Thank you for any help in this regard.

Bless!
