Disliked{quote} Why don't you post some swing/position trades so that followers of your thread can benefit to learn from your style of trading if that's one of your intention of this journal ? Since you have already mentored 2 members, you might want to use this thread to mentor more members about your simple trading approach to swing/position trades. A simple chart to show trades will do. If you have the time you might want to include a few lines of your market analysis. Just a suggestion for you to consider. People learn a lot more from actual trades...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Funny how 90% of people want an arm when a hand is offered to them, isn't it? But if you could actually read you could find over 200 posted charts from the Profitfarmer's profile history. Be grateful for what has been given and do your homework! I'm not a scalper and I'm not trading the way PF does and yet I know exactly how his charts look like when he is entering trades - scalps or position trades- without bothering him....Ignored
Disliked{quote}while i scalp mostly nowadays, my rather simple approach does work for swing/position trading very well too. matter of fact, i may even used some live examples some points...Ignored
Disliked{quote} If you are implying "I" want then your presumption is completely wrong, I don't need his help. Don't get personal with your distorted comments, stick to the point of discussion pls. This is a trading forum and it's about trades, isn't it ? Followers of profitfarmer benefit when they look at his trades, isn't it ? In profitfarmer's earlier post, he was musing about posting swing/ position trades - {quote} I was merely encouraging him to do exactly that for the benefit of his followers as an extension of his mentoring work which he has already...Ignored
DislikedI think this is the most valuable thread in FF for the ones looking to follow a similar path to that of PF. Aside from the people searching for a complete trading system, there is a group that already has developed (or is working) their own and can appreciate more the "journey" itself, the psychological aspects, the tips PF gives about risk management, how the week progresses, how he handles DD, etc.... Thank you PF for sharing your journey, I wish you the best for the coming year.Ignored
Disliked{quote} this post got 3 likes...2 from those who actually been involved with the mentoring gift, and the 3rd, whom i was intended to answer. it is pure swing trading, as i like it, from the H4 and H1 chart. https://www.forexfactory.com/showthr...7#post10590037 so, went really unnoticed. in comparison, my car's photo got also 3 likes, far from the actual trading. but here is the real deal: there was talk about prop and other trading. for those deal, i stick mainly to one and one method, that is scalping, the reason being...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Thanks for the detail reply, I appreciate it. I did look through your individual trades. I recognise they were mostly swing trades but peculiarly you exited positions rather quickly which makes me wonder the reason why you do that, now I know. If you are game for constructive feedback to mull over, here's one. Look at the duration of your winning trades verses your losing trades, the difference is there. And that single large loss, that has to be the largest volatility you traded against and if I'm not wrong there's an earlier red news release...Ignored
Dislikedprofitfarmer; nice work; and happy new year! I guess next step for you is to automate trading; so you can backtest it as well.Ignored
DislikedPF, good point. I remember a friend of mine who works for a hedge fund; does not automate his strategy in purpose; so they don't steal his intellectual property (i.e. secret trading formula). in the world of hedge funds; it's a dog eat dog situation. sometimes it is better to keep the secret sause in your head.Ignored

Disliked{quote} although i think the secret sauce is - more than anything- practice and stay realistic.Ignored
Disliked{quote} that's a risk when automating strategies a solution would be to encrypt the trading code , but there's always the risk that someone can steal your code anywayIgnored
Disliked{quote} you could perhaps automate part of the strategy and leave essential part low touch. you have to bacareful out there when interviwing for hedgy jobs. the type of questions you get and the number of interviews are all meant to squeeze alpha from you big boys like Steven Cohen of SAC capital are now investing in sites like WorldQuant to harvest trading ideas from gullibles at low costIgnored
Disliked{quote} yep that would be a good idea - or if you're a really good coder or have brilliant coder friends , you could use 128 bit encryption or the toughest encryption available hey but hadn't Steve Cohen been banned from trading public funds , wasn't he the notorious insider trader convicted on several charges ?Ignored

an idea, for swing
short UsdMxn, for a possible zone i put the lines.
anywhere in that zone if and when the price gets there( probably around 20 or around, using the BRN resistance too) is a good opportunity to start some shorts, for 40-60 cents at least, in the meantime collecting a healthy large positive swap.Ignored
