They screwed me over too. A huge imaginary spike that was on no other charts and lost me a big chunk of my account. They have refunded me the losses but not reopened the trade costing me a huge profit. Now they aren't even bothering replying to my emails. Does anyone know if there is an ombudsman I can complain too?

Anyone know a new broker? I don't trust them anymore.....

i'm in exactly the same situation, they refunded me loses as if i've closed my positions on ~600$ price whilst it is already 700+ and will barely retrace to 400 (where i opened my orders). What does it mean in common sense? - A unique investing possibility is lost due to some crappy price filtering in (as i thought so far) reliable broker.
And of course i prefer to get my positions reopened (best scenario) or refunded at current price.
------------------------------------------------
as far as i know, it's the right place to open a dispute: https://www.fos.org.au/
i wonder if anyone got any info about the process and similar cases, any help is appreciated

Well Pepperstone for me are still okay, no problems so far... touch wood

But I learnt long ago that if you are serious about forex trading and protecting your capital the best thing you can do is split it up between different brokers.
So do not just find one but a few ... I have more than a few ;-)

I use MT4 on my telephone and it is very easy to switch between the accounts for trading.

I have FXPRO, FXCM, XM, Pepperstone, Alpari, Easy Forex..... and a few others lol

Good luck

If thinking of switching try Global Prime I checked FPA all reviews are good. The only thing I don't like is they don't have paypal withdrawals.

Question: Their website states that the maximum leverage provided is 400:1. Are there any restrictions on that leverage, for example regarding the account balance, trade size etc?
Ignored
Other brokers that are said to offer such high leverage include Justforex, AAFX, FBS, and FXglory. these brokers offere a higher leverage of up to 1:3000. I tend to think this is the most dangerous leverage to be used by anyone!

I just updated my macOS Sierra to the new version as I wanted to take advantage of the new table function in Notes. However, when I now try to open the Pepperstone MT4 app it no longer brings up the charting window, literally no window comes up.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

My only solution right now is to get a virtual machine such as Parallels which would be too much hassle

Parallels is the only way to go when running MT4 on a Mac (compared to the Wine MT4 wrapper). It is very slick and makes life so much easier.

Why use either? Why not just use the native client? https://pepperstone.com/uk/trading-p...tatrader-4-mac

Very likely the software (wine based virtualization) is not supported by new Mac OS. I used to use commercial version (CrossOver), and experienced some malfunction after Mac OS update. You need to wait until the vendor updates the software.

This is NOT native MT4 at all. It's just similar virtualization software based on Wine or other similar open source project. The performance is similar to Windows virtualization software such as Parallels, Fusion or Virtualbox. It's shame Metaquotes is not interested in porting MT4 to Mac native.

Since you have quite a few brokers could you (or someone) answer a few questions for me if you have info:
1. Have you ever compared them at the same time side by side, I mean during news, during night, london opening etc. Have you observed their spread widening, slippage for market orders(buy/sell button), slippage for limit orders.

2. Who gets the most (or the longest) platform freezings?

3. When you observe everything, whoose conditions seems the best?

I am going to also add my two cents. I have been with IC markets for 5 years, and their biggest problem were terrible platform freezes on news, but that was solved some two years ago when they added more servers. But then again lately I've had a couple of news trading issues, not total freezes, but orders delayed by 3-5 sec. It seems as they grow, so do the servers start delaying. But this ends about 5-10min after news.
About the slippage, I don't know what do you guys do with your trades, but my biggest slippage EVER is a few pips. In 99% case my slippage is 0.2-0.5 pips (small volume, and only majors). If I ever get slippage with any broker of 10-20 pips(100-200points so newbies don't get confused), I am closing my account.
Also I haven't noticed any significant spread widening, on worst news it's a few pips on majors(and I don't trade the first 1-2min).
When I see any spike on a chart (even 1 min), it is always tradable- I rarelly look at spread in pips, I always have bid and ask levels visible in my charts, but when the levels almost touch each other, you know it's tradable.

Now I started looking for a backup broker, but with all these stories about slippage, spread widening etc, I have no idea. If someone has some serious side by side comparisons it would save me a lot of time opening live accounts with all of them. Thanks

Can someone on pepperstone live account say did you have platform freeze today during NFP. If yes, for how long? Was it constant, or off/on?
I had 10 min freeze on other broker so I would like to compare.
Mine was off and on, but still wasn' tradable. Ironic thing is the spread was great, in the seconds when I had connection.
And pls only comment about LIVE account.
