Had you FOCUSED on ONE METHOD and READ, LEARNED and UNDERSTOOD PASR, then APPLIED it, you would have entered on the GREEN arrow and ALREADY be 165 pips IN PROFIT!

I must admit I found the entry confusing, in mid-air so to speak, but when I looked at my daily, I think it becomes clearer. here's what I see.

Bearish engulfing into support, and bottom of wcc. The next day, an IB, 2nd confirmation of rejection of S and wcc. The following day, a close above the highs, a confirmed swing. entry 10 pips above the high.
Hopefully this is on the right track, although it's obviously more advanced than looking for the 4 main PA signals at SR, which is what I am concentrating on.

Hi, Strat!

One of the problems I face is that I get out too soon too many times. I was in AN trade, the entry was on D1, and I exited the short position after the spinning top before the hammer, only to see it falling down like a rock to where my TP was. I hope you do not mind me posting bar charts instead of candle charts, as the entry and exit is not visible so clearly with candles. My question is how would you have managed this short entry? Would you have treated it as a set and forget or would you have exited like I did?

Thanks in advance for the reply!

Had I traded it, which I didn't, instead of taking profit at the Bond hammer, I would have brought my Stop Loss down to just above the previous candle as shown by the red line.

Hello Strat. Just noticed this one on USDCAD 60 min. Bullish pinbar from support, target daily resistance. Is this one you would take?

Thank you for the reply, Strat!

You might have noticed I am using only naked charts, so the shadow is not a factor in my trading decisions. But I still read about it and look at it on other people charts. Anyhow, this post is somewhat confusing, because although it was a great PASR trade (IB breakout, TL break, MN and W1 support area), wouldn't the shadow be against a long?

In fact, I did enter a buy, but before the candle you marked. My entry was the bullish candle after the spinning top, as I perceived it as a version of a morning star, although it was not a by the book morning star pattern. I rode it only for 70 pips, and then lost 50 on the short position.

As always, I am looking forward to your reply, and thanks in advance!

EDIT: Taking another look at that chart and applying a 200 ema, which I know you put weight on, I notice that your entry candle closed above it. Was that the good enough reason to disregard the fact that the shadow was above the price and enter a long?

Premature Extrication!

Ah, the little people playing games - again.

I used to suffer from this a lot too. I do not know if your problem arises for the same reason mine did, but, in case it does, I'll offer a suggestion:
If the reason you are exiting early is because you are afraid of missing out on profit - any profit - or worse, you are afraid of missing out on any profit and afraid that price will reverse, eat your (partial) profit, hit your stop loss and leave you with a loss for the trade then:

Try splitting your entry into multiple smaller lots and set a variety of partial profits on some of the positions. This will help placate the little people. (It also often lets you get back into the trade over and over again taking small profits multiple times before the actual run to the target S/R that you were initially targeting). If it doesn't reach you original target, you can still come out with a small profit or, at worst, a really insignificant loss.

Here is an example.

I've posted this trade previously. Been in it since 20 November:

I'm waiting to see if price whizzes back down the CC or if it breaks. Either way, I'm perfectly happy (and will sleep well tonight!) as I have closed 3 of 5 trades within the green (CC) area. I'm collecting interest, so I don't really care how long it takes from here, but I do know that one of 3 scenarios will happen:
(i) It breaks up - I'm happy. I have money on the table.
(ii) It heads south but doesn't close below the green area: I'm happy, as I can look for re-entry.
(iii) It heads south and keeps going south - and this trade is over. In this case, I get out - I'm still happy as I have some profit already booked and I look for the next trade.
