I have just completed the weekly top-down technical analysis of the pairs on my watch list. Doing this has been particularly helpful in screening the pairs and to better understand the markets and develop a trading plan for each pair I plan to trade during the week. What about you? Have you developed a screening system or do you use top-down, pre-market analysis?

Have you tried determining S/R zones using line charts? You will find a combination of line and candlestick charts effective for determining an S/R zone. Use line chart first and fine tune with candlestick chart.

I discovered that its not in the nature of all humans to resist emotional stress which leads to bad trading decisions..Some personalities are just made to worry more than others..Thats how we were created.Not every trader can stick to the Psychological Discipline stuff....If you try about 2years and find out your emotions still get in the way of success just hire a programmer and get your plan written down and coded..Spend time doing research and optimize your strategy.Develop something reasonable and organic that can make 100% a year with 30% maximum draw-down.Compound and increase account and lot size after each year.Give yourself 5 year and you will be shock were you will be.

Knowing yourself is one of the points you are making. Let me share a personal story. When I started Forex trading in late 2010/early 2011, I never understood the importance of getting a trading style that fits my personality. I focused mainly on scalping and being unnecessarily impulsive. The results? I burnt a couple of live trading accounts in quick succession before I realized I need to analyze what style and trading strategy suits me. Since getting that right, I have seen improvement in my trading, and in my confidence as a trader.

I stopped trying control my emotion. I just stick to my setup check list. I have a difficult character and I can't beat my ego myself.... so I need help

You should learn to establish the control over your emotions and if you can't do that, go back to the Demo and try to learn it in there.

I love your candor, mate. A beginning step to success in this business is knowing where we need help; knowing our key weaknesses. One way to handle your emotion is to reduce your risk. Trading demo is not the solution because the emotional commitment is higher trading live than trading demo. Minimize the risk you trade and trade less frequent. Also, do a thorough pre-market analysis of each pair you hope to trade before you trade it and get a written down summary-plan of the trade you want to take, preferably using 'if-then' statements to decide your trade based on scenarios you got from your analysis.

My risk is reduced, since 8 years trading I never bankrupt any accоunt, because I have fear of failure. As I wrote above my ego is big.

For now the key point for me is "trade less frequent". The problem is that I want to make profit from several market situations, because I really know too much about price action and market. At this moment I know so much about me as well. A year ago I started monitoring my thoughts, breathing and heart beat, because it is primаry indicators about increasing emotions. It was a epic battle with myself and I stopped fighting, because a men can change his character but not the temperament. Temperament is transmitted genetically.

Since this week I never had a plan. I realized that at the beginning of the weeks ago I started with profitable trades, but somewhere in the middle of the week I lost myself betwееn emotions and price action, I also lost my profits. So I stopped concentrating on my weaknesses and began to emphasize my strengths-for me it means will for victory. Now I have trading plan and in the middle of present week I managed to master emotions thanks to my setups check list, which is part of my plan and knowing myself. Of course it did not work out the best way but definitely it was a step forward. This is a process and I will continue share with you.

Thanks mate for sharing. An important matter in trading success is to stay humble in spite of our success and realize that past performance is never a guarantee for future success. Staying with a trading plan is important; your checklist is good but the fact that you are very competitive and aggressive in trading is one area you should work on. Try to reduce how much you want to earn, take success in trading as a process that requires steady financial growth rather than making a kill.
