Easy, please clarify your decisions on July 1 trades.
EUR/USD M15 - Double TP (2x21p) - where did the 21 TP come from? Is this an arbitrary number you have found best? Your box size is not 21 pips wide. I thought you used the box width as TP and SL.
And I see you kept the first box hi/lo price as both of your entry prices. I thought you would have moved to the second box once no trade was triggered from the first box after the second box was complete or near complete.

GBP/USD M15 - Break Even. Can you post your charts - I didn't get this at all. The set up I see is a break even on the early buy and a TP on later sell. Of course I cancelled all pending orders just before GBP news so both orders did not activate.

And further, are you using a trade management EA to manage your trades after you enter them manually?? I have searched everywhere and can not find a simple TM EA that really works giving choices of TP, SL, BE, TS with the option of BE and TS starting at a designated point. Everyone refers you to Hopwood's MPTM, but it and it's code are just too complicated and I find at times it can not calculate some close price parameters correctly, and Hopwood is no longer interested in fooling with it. I think there some TM EAs for sale for about $300 and up. I am in the process of having one coded from a paid service.

Hi,

here it is, EUR/USD chart. Price need to break the first box, and I usually put a small buffer (around half pip) to execute the trade, that way box size was 20,6pip wide. We move to the next small box when trade was not triggered only with M1 scalp trades. M15 and H4 setups need to break the very first box.
GBP/USD trades: first (buy trade) was triggered before the news (around 1hr before) and it was wiped after it's announcement. The second (sell) hit TP later.
I'm not using any EA, just pending orders.

Kind regards

Hello Traders,

last few days charts.

EUR/USD (+16p/+16p/+56p)
GBP/USD (+19p/+23p)

Market is still uncertain about direction, but volatility is great.

Have a nice weekend!

Aren't you just trading a breakout of the h/l of the first H4 bar of the day?

Open price will be somewhere in this bar. So when prices moves above the high, the background will always be blue and when it moves below the low, the background will always be red, because it's just a D1 bar not showing opn/close?

Hi,

don't treat it like H4 bar break only. It's good to take care of details, like days of the week, news, important support/resistance areas.
We have also other TFs which are traded with different rules. The more time you spend watching the price, the better results you will get.

Kind Regards

Few traders asked about M1 (scalp) trading last days. Instead of just replying via e-mail, I will post some charts and tips, which can be useful when riding one minute waves. M1 scalp is recommended for experienced trades, so make sure you spend at least few days with demo account first.

First we need to look for currency pair that is actually trending today. How to spot trending pair? Current price should be far away from the daily open price. If there are some 'red' news ahead, please wait for it's announcement. When we finally have obvious direction (up/down spike for example) we look for trades only in this direction.
Today's example: EUR/USD. Price spiking on european session. Background is red, we look for short trades only.

Pretty new to forex, as my experience is about one year only, but having some success with this. Trading it solely on m1 tf. Very nice results and consistency. The whole thing is to keep watching same tf all the time until mastered. I trade mostly eu/early us session, as the OP said just wait for the daily trend to establish. It's not hard to get 2-3R every day.

Of course you can use different R:R ratios to increase your profits and adjust your lot size to keep similar risk on each trade.

Hi,
I wrote EA, which is to trade according to assumptions of such a strategy:
- Play only once a week, on Tuesday,
- Positions BuyStop above the high of Monday, SellStop below Monday's low.
- SL opposite sides
- Risk position 2%
If the results will encouraging when I will brag about.

Edit: My idea is to open positions on Tuesday and all closed on Friday, before the end of trading.

I digs up the old topic.
I have a question if such an old method of entering the market can have an edge?
The strategy from this thread is easy to decipher.
My question is more general if OHLC systems is able to work nowadays?
I have a few ideas for modifying MM with this strategy, but I do not know if it makes sense

Of course it works It's one of the oldest method I'm still using, yet very strong.
Just don't expect that it will give you a 100% bullet proof signals.
At the first place its giving a clear market direction. Thanks to boxes charts
are very readable. Check the previous posts with H4 analysis (the guy posting trade examples
did a great job). Also a lot of useful tips for dt.
