{quote} first of all thank you for sharing! please check the figure,i want something like this.none of the Rsi indicator givingme precise arrows on cross of 45 and 55 levels.I have arrows on the screen chart but I want RSi arrow for double confirmation. {image}
Ignored
Call the two windows the chart window and the indicator window. The indicator puts an arrow and a price on the chart window. Do you want the arrow and price moved to the indicator window, or a second arrow and price placed in the indicator window?
I'm hoping you have figured out you can make the trigger levels anything you want by typing the values in the input boxes.

That would be the bee's knees! I second that request!
Trade what "Is", not what "If".

Great idea TrendRider ! I would love to have that view too, best way to watch what happens.

Here`s a little tip for you to get a "bigger" screen to put 4 charts on:

Click on those tiny lines and drag the lower line besides the upper line, there should be enough space. You can get rid of some tools you don`t need, to make the line shorter too.

Attached Image

And "close" the "status line" down below by removing the checkmark under "View" tab.

That way you win two lines on your chart. Big difference, especially when you stag two charts in one window.

You can not have more than 1 time frame per tab unless you use mult time frame indicator, but that will not be able to produce usable price carts from other time frames

You can simulate it (using something like this : https://www.forexfactory.com/showthr...0#post10403210) but that is just that " a simulation

Why?
I agree that limits that the usage of "input" has, has its merits, but unless a coder is a dumbarse, I think that limitations like that should not be imposed. After all, why do we have "const" if metatrader thinks that we are not able to control what we want to allow to be changed and what we do not want to allow to be changed. Implicit "I know better than you what do you have to do" stuff like that they did with "input" does not help in usability of any coding language

Probably the best couple of sentences about coding I have read is from one book about C++
It goes like this : "Unlike other coding languages. C++ is always going to do something. If that is what you wanted it to do is entirely your responsibility not a responsibility of the coding language". And we all know the power of C, C++ and similar languages. Hence, if they are bragging with the similarities of mql and c/c++, they should not forget the basic rules (the coding freedom for the coder) that C and C++ are delivering to coders

That sounds more like the python mantra, "we're all consenting adults here." ...where nothing is truly private in python...

Regarding input vs extern, you learn the hard way once (I did lol) - when your program compiles but you accidentally modified a constant input variable. It's better to use "input" for all input variables and then in the ultra-ultra-rare instance you need to change the constant (programatically) on-the-fly then use extern. Just my two-cents.

Given that I've only needed to programmatically change a constant input in MQL one time, ever, the risk of making a compilation mistake is much higher than needing to go back and simply change "input" to "extern". You're an expert who doesn't have to worry about these kinds of mistakes, but anyone just learning MQL should get in the habit of using "input" instead of "extern"...

For the newbies who don't know the difference:

Both 'input' and 'extern' are keywords that tell the compiler to list the variable as an input-variable in the parameters window. They both do the same thing with the exception that 'input' marks the variable as constant so that the program cannot change its value.

The worst that can happen when using input: it won't compile until you simply change it to 'extern'. note: you should never really need to do this. There are most likely better practices.

The worst that can happen when using extern: you accidentally assign the input-var a new value; all kinds of havoc can follow.
