Hey all,
today I took a loss on EUR/USD. After a tremendously bullish day, I would like to put my error up for analysis.
After 1, I expected the bull run to end soon. At 2 there was a proper ND candle, broken to the downside on rising volume. This was my short trigger. As is obvious, I was wrong. Price kept rising.
My questions are: where did I go wrong? Was this just bad luck? Should I have gotten out at the NS at 3 or even at the volume peak prior?
Please share your thoughts.

Thanks for your thoughts! As you both, freemind and bluesoul, have mentioned this: is waiting for price to leave and then test a high volume range general consensus in VSA? I have read the last 50 pages or so of this thread and Malcolm and pres (who as I assume are the most advanced pros around here) seem to always do that.
I will try to be less trigger-friendly in the future, thank you

I am currently in a long trade in USD/CAD. I applied yesterday's advice from you guys and waited for range breaks.
The lower two black lines were the high volume range from this morning. After it was broken to the upside at 1, I was looking for long entries. I casually placed a stop order (blue line) above the down candle at 2, which was triggered soon after. "Casually" because the volume was not lower than the two previous bar and thus it did not really qualify to be a NS bar. I did the same thing again at the bar before 3. This was triggered by the following high volume bar, which started up, triggered my stop order and then moved down. It also created a new high volume range, which it left quite quickly to the upside two bars after 4. I will enlarge my position as entries present themselves.
Comments please.

UCAD has been very straight forward the past few weeks. See yesterday, selling comes in with a ND and price drops. Probably hold this long for a bit longer than I originally thought. {image}
